Everything ships with tracking, at least.... period. That is how I have always done it. If I'm trading, I ship it with tracking and make sure the other party ships with tracking. If I'm selling, the tracking cost (extra $.085) is included in the shipping costs. It is not an option. Insurance will always be by request of the other party, but at least with tracking I know that they got the package or not.
I know this is a "what if..." sort of thing, but I honestly find it tough to judge the scenario because I can't believe that people would make trades or sales here and not include at least delivery confirmation with the shipping.
What should you do if the post office loses a package?

my only comment is, if it's not worth paying the 75 cents for tracking or couple dollars for insurance, then it's not worth complaining over.
you're going to send at least 15 minutes at the post office, to complain and fill out a form, yet not the $ to insure or assure it gets delivered.?.
the best you can hope for is, after you file a lost mail form, it gets found. basiclly, any mail that gets damaged, that the addresses, both to and from, are missing or obscured, goes to an area to get 'patched-up' and possibly identified. only specific people are allowed to go through the mail, looking for an address. [you did put a shipping invoice inside, right? with both addresses and a list of contents.]
always put both addresses inside every pacakge you mail. if it gets washed off, [yes people use pencil or water-soluable ink], obscured, [yes we use grease and oils in the machines and permanent inks], it will get delivered. someone, sometime, will open the package and look for an invoice with an address. if it's there, it'll get re-addressed and sent out. if not, it goes into the trash.

Luna, you're not the one I'm worried about! LOL! Yes we are trading, however, as Steve has correctly observed, this is all just a "hypothetical" what-if scenerio.
That's all, nothing more. Anybody that I may be trading with, please do not be alarmed......LMAO!! This is all just in good fun, and I wanted opinions.

npd_bigdaddy, i knows this is a hypothetically situation but the truth is that i trust you more than the mail servive... even in a situation like this (a buy/sell forum) that people don´t really know each other.
Soooo.... you are not worried? two 700$ armys going by mail and you are not worried?... i for sure am.
What if they decide to drop the box? or play a little football with it?...
I for sure am worried, is not only about the money, its the dedication that i putted in that army, would go crazy if you told me that some minis or vehicles arrived in a bad condition.

Well, that aside, sure. That's why I think we both agreed to the insurance. I certainly hope that your stuff comes intact as it's already assembled and whatnot. My box on the other hand I guess can have a little more "football" played with it, as it's unassembled.....LOL, but let's hope that no sports whatsoever are played with our boxes!

Well, that depends.
Are you talking about the game played with a round or oblong ball?
If it was the girly sport we (in the US) call "soccer," I wouldn't worry about it.
If, now, they were playing some manly American Football.... that's cause for concern.
Unless they kicked it, of course. Those pointy toed, high heel shoes that "soccer" players wear could damage a box... At least you know they wouldn't be THROWING it, though... they'd have to use their hands for that.
