Im one that likes to see old stuff and variety. I went to one store in Georgia on the same trip that made me feel like a kid in a candy store. They had a bits wall (which I had never seen before in person), a box full of old OOp minis, and a very very large wall of new and older stuff.

Orlando has a healthy Fantasy crowd, with good representation on the national circuit. Top notch players, which include the apparent 07 WHFB circuit champ.

Orlando also hosts one of the premier events of the IndyGt circuit, The Necronomicon. www.thenecro.com

That said, most pick up games are arranged by board or by phone. Try the afformentioned necro link.

The Rhubarb tourney is going to be your best bet as far as meeting other players go.
