question about greenstuff:

Post by DavrosRTS »

Hi Guys, Is it true that if the piece of Greenstuff is thin enough you can bake it with a hair dryer? Or is there a better way to cook it while it is on a plastic fig without killing it? Thanks!

why do you wanna bake it? Green stuff cures in air. thats why it is two part. One part lasts forever without the other... well pretty much.. you mix the two together, it dries/cures!
I follow the idea LOWER references ships/pays first. It keeps things safer for anyone, as I would never desire to have to start over again. Nor would I want to loose the trust of any fellow gamers. That is how I ended up with my reference collection! I always follow through with my deal!

Green stuff takes roughly 24 hours to fully cure. The exothermic reaction of the 2 part epoxy creates some (mild) heat on its own. Adding more heat accelerates the process. A common method is to place the sculpt under a warm lamp to speed things up. I doubt a hair dryer would be all that effective.

Check out Black Orc Games instead of buying your own equipment. They can do everything, including making the molds, all for a reasonable price. In addition, they have experience doing everything related to the actual production of minis.

Last time I looked at equipment, it was running around $2000+ for a small home casting set-up. Not to mention cost of material, etc. I think Black Orc Games is the way to go as a custom casting service.
