Fantasy Rules Question

Post by montaa »

I have a question for those of you that are serious Warhammer Fantasy players:

What happens if a model charges into base to base with a hero that has joined the unit, kills the hero on the charge and then is left without anyone to attack?

Things I know:
The chargers excess wounds DO NOT carry to the regular critters.
No regular critter can attack because they are not in base to base contact with the charger.

Things I would like to know:
Does combat cease when the Hero dies? ie, there is no more combat? Or does normal combat resolution then take place, and find out who wins?

Diagram:
The models in question happen to be Ogres, hence the 4 square layout.
H = Hero
C = Regular Critter
Ch = Charger
__ = Dead Hero (needed because i can't hold whitespaces)

Before Charge:
HH

After Charge:

After Charger Attacks:

For the sake of argument, lets say I never look at PMs during the weekend

Normal combat resolution occurs.

This is a very similar situation to a Challenge. You might check out those rules for further clarity.
