Hi all,
I have completed a trade, that I thought went rather well. I left positive feedback for the other trader, asking politely if they could do the same. They have not as of yet, even after two follow-up inquiries which were done just as politely as the first. I even asked if something was wrong that I could rectify and I have yet to hear back. I know that this person has logged on since I have sent these messages, as they have moved to my sent box from my out box. I am not sure if this means they have been read or not, but I do know that it means they have logged on since. Is there a protocol for finding out why a positive reference was not left? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and welcome.

It's a crappy situation but there's not too much you can do really. A long time ago the site used to send a feedback recipient a form to automatically return feedback (I seem to remember some of the fields were even already filled in). It would be nice if feedback didn't apply to you score until you reciprocate. As for what you can do...I guess keep sending polite reminders until he leaves you feedback, maybe he'll get tired of getting all of those PMs eventually!!
The believer is happy, the doubter is wise.
Check out some of the recent threads where people were asking for who they'd traded with so they could leave feedback. Sometimes FB just gets forgotten. So far, you've handled yourself well. Keep asking politely till you get what you deserve. Maybe a Mod could help by asking this guy if there is a reason he hasn't left FB yet?

I'd just drop it. Sometimes that happens.
Some people just don't care enough to leave ref's for others... some are forgetful.
If you've emailed him twice, there's no good reason for him not to leave it, or let you know why he wasn't, at least (no ref as opposed to a neg or neutral).
And, Adam... No. We don't get that anymore.
Some of us don't get reminders when we get PM's or when topics we've replied to have had activity on them, either.
I know I don't... and many others don't, as well.

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Want my help with a BTR or backout? All messages sent/posted should be in CHRONOLOGICAL order. Otherwise, I just won't read it.

I'd be careful with this tip if I were you. This is actually a steam-line example of ITL intimidation.jasper3d wrote:a guy i traded with did the same thing..i could tell he was getting my messages asking for feed back, after 2 weeks i said if he didnt leave feedback i would ask moderators to remove the feedback i left for him. he responded by giving me a nuetral rating and saying i was to blame and he had an illness blah blah...he read em, he couldve taken the 2 minutes to give me feedback i deserved
Rule #10: ITL intimidation
What qualifies as ITL intimidation?
In its most direct form, ITL intimidation is when someone says something like "If you give me a bad trader report, I'm gonna give you one."
Anything that is not so direct, like "If you don't give me a good trade report, you'll regret it" also qualifies. Note that giving someone retaliatory feedback qualifies as well. No free hits.
If you are not sure, please contact either myself or one of the moderators. The equivalent level of evidence required for filing a bad trade report is necessary: emails with headers, PMs, and so forth.
