Sent box vs. out box

Sorry to take up board space for such an odd question. What is the difference between the sent box and the out box?

Messages in the outbox haven't been read yet, while those that have are in the sentbox.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Lower rating always ships first, (unless I have dealt with you before and on good terms). Sorry, that's just the way it is.
