Looking for a new hobby bench lamp/magnifier glass ideas?

Post by ssapper »

So while cleaning out the mancave in preparation for my cross country move. My son was kind enough to render my workbench hobby light inoperable, thus giving me an excuse to buy a new one. Thinking LED? And as I get older a magnifing glass of goid quality. Trooling arround the internet doesnt let me see what is good quality and not expensive crap. Any Ideas?

Thanks in advanece!

Michael's hobby store has a couple of them that I think they made for like Jewelry makers and the such. (advertised for that on package).

I can not remember if they are LED or not, but I think I remember seeing one that fit onyour head like a hat and another the clipped to the side of a desk/table.

Ran around 20-30 bucks if I remember correctly.

look I found it :)

I have a desk lamp that has a round head with a magnifier and florescent bulb on the top.
Made in China but works great for painting. Looks like it could be sold at any old 'mart' type store.

Great plan, but I work 0500 to sometimes after 8 at night, so I am unsure figs painted by moon light will come out to well. But interesting set up you got there.

I love my Ott-Lite. You can buy them at most crafty stores.

I also use the helping hands. Two clamps and a magnifying glass. I wrapped the teeth in tape so they don't mark up the mini. Also a clamp on desklight has done me wonders. It's adjustable so you can set the light at whatever angle you need.
Please respond, even if it's just to say no.
- I pack all my items securely with bubble wrap, I ask you do the same
- I work nights for the army so my schedule is beyond frustrating. Please have patience when corresponding with my as my perception of work hours are bit ........tricky
- C'mon people let's barter. I mean the name of the place we are doing this is called bartertown
If I owe you a ref, shoot me a message to let me know

Harbour Freight has lamps cheap, but they're not as strong as the $$ ones in the craft store.
