I PROVED that the majority votes when informed that a vote is taking place.

I don't see you going to all the other forums asking people to vote, why the hell should I? Hypocrite.

Wow! I believe I touched a nerve.

Ok this thread has 3 off topic pages. I will not warn anyone again. Please keep your discussions here limited to the poll question please. If you wish to talk politics, move it to the www.warhammer40k.com General Discussion area or via PM.

All due respect, Al... I don't see that we've gotten OFF topic... I think that, at this point, we're discussing our reasons and thoughts ON the topic.... We just have gone buyond the "what" into the "why."

Please... look at it that way and, if you still feel we're off topic (speaking for myself) I'll post it to a new thread gladly.

That being said....
125.7 million people out of a population of 215.7 million people voted. That's not a majority?
You are missing or ignoring my point.

Yes. the majority VOTED... The majority did not, however, get what they want.
The people who voted for Bush do NOT represent the entirety of the nation. Rather, they represent a minority of it.
In comparison... a minority of people are voting & making the decision here. I'm not saying it is an equal comparison... just a comparison.

As to the notification of all 8000+ members... That has been done... That is what the thread posted by the Admin was... A notification. It's not our fault they chose not to read it.

Sending out over 8000 emails saying, "Please take part in this poll" is a bit extreme.

I see your point MM. I'm just glad that the majority got out and voted. Even if we got everyone on here to vote, I'm sure that it would end up the same. But at least they would have a voice/ choice. Of course, I'm probably just being optimistic.

Maybe we should add whether a member on these boards is either active or inactive. Of course what would be the parameters for deciding that?

Now that last part was off topic. Sorry.

Actually, that's not a bad idea Ironhide.

I'll talk to Adam about the feasibility of setting something like that up. :-)

alot of inactive members are also active members, i have seen posts in the other forum areas where people mentioned starting new screen names because they used to have a membership and forgot either the username or password or even both.

remember if you did email the community to even get a finding of who is a member and who is not, would the old account get deleted? or get marked inactive? or whats the idea here? because neither is right, esp eliminating the account.
also how long would an account not being used be considered inactive?

I'm talking about people who actually don't even log on here for months on end.

Can't a person who has forgotten the password or userid email an admin and get it emailed to them? Using the email they joined with of course.

If someone did re-register because they forgot their old account, then their old account is just taking up server space and not being used. After all the less server space being used means faster response time when navigating the site.

Besides, most sites I've been on where a user had multiple accounts, they were usually up to no good.

Should we start a new topic on this? Since it is off topic.

Gah. esplain how, of the votes cast, one guy got more and was then elected president, the majority didn't win?

Not voting eliminates people who really don't count in the process. Saying that they didn't want it because they didn't vote is really kind of strange to me since they didn't vote.

Also, this being friendly to noobs thing is stupid. We need more heads on pikes people, stop getting all lovely dovey or I'm going to have to start kicking me some puppies!

Did you know that unless it is a no-kill shelter they will euthanize the animal after 8 days if no one adopts it?
