Ok. This cold weather sux

Post by kturock »

I couldn't go outside and paint because it was down in the 50's almost 40's, when I got home from work.

I gotta wait until later in the wek when it returns to 70's and maybe 80.

That's crap.

I live in polar-bearland where the weather you guys are having is normal for me. Today, all the roads were closed and the snowploughs pulled because it was "bad out", the temperature reached a degree that would cause frostbite within 10 minutes if one was not careful enough to keep themselves out of the wind-chill. I received over 2 feet of snow in the last two days, and my backyard which hasn't been ploughed or shovelled since winter began has easily 4 feet of snow. I'll take a picture tomorrow and show you what you COULD be experiencing ;).

Luckily for me I converted a small section in my basement for painting, it is kept at room temperature and at a humidity level that makes priming perfect.

EDIT: The temperature here today was approximately -30°C or -22°F, I would gladly trade my temperature for yours :D

So that means when the hurricanes come, I can come stay with you.? ;-)

Snow at least stacks. Water [rain] doesn't.
You'd be amased at what 10" of rain looks like...especially when it's over the course of 1 day.

Since 1" of rain = 5" of snow, and he's got 4' of snow in his back yard, I'd daresay he knows what it looks like, after a fashion.
: )

On another note, you two choose to live in (a) the Great White North [it's called that for a REASON] and (b) Hurricane Alley. There are places you can go where the weather is not so horrible.

We get 4 seasons:

Almost winter, winter, still winter and construction. They coincide nicely to your fall, winter, spring and summer

Last 3, neighbour across the road has her car stuck under feet of snow and the crazy one next door seems to hibernate during the winter.

We get all four seasons here in middle Tennessee. They just happen in the same week, over and over.

Here in Ohio, this week, we went from 30 (Faren) on Sunday the 5th, to -13 overnight on the 6th, and are expected to get back to 50 by saturday the 11th..

So far though, no precipitation other than water main breaks...

Dry/Draught/Fire season, hurricane/rainey/flood season, tourist season.

the 1st 2 are six monthes long..
the 3rd varies depending on everyone/everywhere elses money and weather.

[how come if it's tourist season, we can't shoot/hunt them? ala` deer season, black powder season, snook, obster season, lobster mini season, etc]
