Space Cadet Comics

Hey gang,

I am looking for information about a comic I remember from my younger days.

It involved a Space Academy of some sort, and there were pirates who steal Nelson's Victory (iirc) using a ship with some sort of grappling arms.

Also, the protagonist has an antagonist cadet who ends up falling in a pan of motor oil.

Not a lot to go on, but I think it is NOT Tom Corbett, based on examples of those comics I've seen.

Found something--the character was Jason January. Any one know anything else about these strips?

Was this the strip that was in fact and fiction? I think it was Space Wars if so

Bought it on Amazon and it is in fact the strip I half remembered. Good times. Also, there was this book:
