Did GW ever make a "Rogue Trader" mini?

Post by kermitfries »

I know old 40k was called Rogue Trader, but did Games-Workshop actually make a Rogue Trader character model? They are the guys in the fluff who are basically explorers for the imperium. More info can be found in the link below

I think it would be cool to own a Rogue trader character model, if one was ever produced.

It is sort of peculiar, given the models that they DID make.

There are a ton of characterful models from the period though; what sort of fig are you looking for?

I disagree, s_o_r_r_o_w.

This model's tab reads "Rogue Trader". I'm reluctant to pull him off his base to prove it, though.

I have that fig (and his damned rare cloak/backpack) cataloged as an Inquisitor.

CCM agrees:

BUT, it clearly does say ROGUE on his tab:

So--I think this fig is the best we can hope for as far as a Rogue Trader is concerned.

I've always considered him to be a Rogue Trader but, (perhaps not so) strangely enough, I've never used him as anything other than an Inquisitor. I wonder if he was meant to be a rogue Inquisitor, like the ones who are constantly battling over the Sensei. I got him in a blister of Assassins a long time ago with the model that looks like Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.

Who knows... Citadel insists that the model on the right in the picture below is equipped with a lascannon:

If that's true, why is he carrying a cluster of what looks like missiles on his belt - missiles that look like they would fit what looks like a missile launcher on his shoulder?

I always knew that guy was an inquisitor, but didn't know that his tab read "Rogue." That's good enough for me lol. Now I have to find him on eBay, and he will be my Rogue Trader! Or, since I have the original Sensei miniature, he will be my Rogue Inquisitor, either way it will be glorious.

Better picture of that model:

Now that I see how little I did to the base (just glue and flock - didn't even fill in the gaps with putty!), I'm considering pulling the model off it for a closer look at the tab.

Would anyone here consider selling this miniature to me? I can't seem to find it on eBay, and I would love to own it.

I've only one, I think. :(

But--patience is your friend. It will come up--what are your search terms?

I usually search for "Rogue Trader Inquisitor" or "40k Inquisitor OOP." I find the other old Rogue Trader inquisitor models, but I already own those. I'll keep searching and waiting I guess, its bound to appear sometime....

Also, remember that this is NOT A TRADE AD.
You want to talk minis? Do it here. Want to make trade offers or requests? Not the place. Take those to PM or the trade forums.
