1st off, GW did that before when they started selling bits.

also, that's unreadable as a link unless you have an account. Here's the error message.

Here is the article along with the link to the doc from BoLS http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2013/03/ ... s.html?m=1

Basically they have revised to the 2003 policy stating that they alone can conduct online sales to now forbid stores from selling their product in less than full, unopened packages. Once again they are trying to monopolize the sale of their product. And once again it proves to me that they care not for their customers what so ever and that I am glad I jumped to Privateer Press and other smaller companies.

I understand business is business and you have to make smart moves to make money, but at what point do they stop and realize that they are going to push their customers away if they keep on down this road? I have literally no obligation towards GW stuff, except that I like most of it, and I like the game. That being said, I can find alternative models for almost any GW model, some that are even better, and I can download Warhammer rules off the internet if I really wanted to keep them from getting my money. And by doing these kinds of things, that's what most people will probably end up doing..... sigh.

Some idiot at GW corporate has convinced himself that, if we're unable to buy 12 individual Meltaguns for our SM's, we'll go out and buy 12 Tactical kits, increasing their sales. It's a shameless money-grab, and isn't going to do squat. All that's going to happen is that bits sellers with trade accounts are going to open second companies. They'll sell full kits to the second company at GW's approved discount, and the second company will sell the bits. Their end result profit will be the same, since the same people, in the end, get all the money from both "sales," anyway.

As I said before, last week we were discussing how GW is about he only company that makes models, that doesn't let other people make add-ons to them.
Look at 'real' model companie; Tamiya, Monogram et c., then look online for add-on or replacement parts for they models. You can get brass parts, entire add-on modeled sections, like engine compartments with crew working on them, antennas, replacement guns. Name it and it's available.
All of the kits need the original model. Forgeworld ala Armourcast, started out like this. You had to buy a GW rhino and then buy the crappy resin gun and turret to make a razorback, or whirlwind or vindicator. Or you could sctracth build it yourself.

Now GW beleives that can have all the buy. The MBA out of college, who know nothing of gaming, are running the show.
In business, the 1st rule is know your product and customers. GW is constantly breaking the 1st rule. It's only a matter of tiem before they become insolvant or price themselves out of business.

Since we have two topics with the same subject in them, I'm going to close this one, as it's the one less used.
