I would have to say for me,the obsession began when I met a group of guys at a local wargaming convention near st louis who introduced me to siegeworld,after my first year,seeing all the cool scratch built 40k scale epic models and huge collections I was hooked.
I started collecting as many space marines as I could then a friend of mine from out there pretty much gave me almost an entire company of marines,this led to my current love of terminators ,now like 8years down the road Ive almost gotten 2 entire 1st companies,along with almost 4 companies worth of marines and tanks.
My other obsession is that I love themed armies,,,I just find them more fun to play and play against,,,so thus was born my Napoleonic and guants ghost guard armies.
I also collect sisters ,both because I love the models but also not many people play them and are unexpected

I got into creating my titan legion because I enjoy the challenge of scratch building and heck theyre just cool.(3 Reavers ,2 warhounds and a knight household,and the legs of a warlord,,,LOL)

I would have to say though the my collection is really do to how much I enjoy painting,converting and scratch building stuff,but if I didnt go to siegeworld I do not think my collection would be as big as it is.
