What do you eat/drink when playing?

Speaking of wives..... Mine gets me deals at gaming stores.. She's easy on the eyes.


I have had on more then one occasion got her to buy me things like magic cards or new units and they will give her up to a 50% discount.... It is the most awesome thing ever. This is at different stores and different people working. When I was big into magic they sold her a 150 dollars worth of cards for 40 bucks.

Good times.


P.S Our gaming group eats pizza or we starve for 8 hours and then get Mcdonalds.

This is terrible you should not let your group starve. Especially if its for McDonalds.

Don't typically eat, since food can get stuff gross.

When Im able to save up enough silver pieces to give to the Boatman(my Wife) ,myself and my fellow broken married friends will order pizza when we game. When I was a free soul as a kid and we'd get together all weekend to play AD&D 2nd edition we'd eat whatever we fancied. Usually fast food,pizza and a dump load of sugary soda. At 37 I cant do that now. Im in good health and Id like to keep it that way, so minimal junk food and diet soda...ill just get cancer from the aspartame.

My wife refuses to play, so I converted my kids. I'll play Descent with both of them, but my older one who just turned ten will play everything like Battletech, Warhammer, chess, etc. We (he) just airbrushed a helicopter he got for Christmas and he has done the majority of the painting on his 2k Skaven. He needs help when it comes to those 150 clanrats. Can't imagine why... He is allowing me to paint the banner on his Doomwheel though!

Funny, i can get dragged thru TJMax or FashionBug, but we stop at the game store and her sister and her wait in the car and complain if I am more than 5 minutes. I did get her the other day. I was looking at a figure on ebay and these dreaded words came out of her mouth- "So is that a Ral Partha?" (She was pissed she knew what it was! )

Amen. My 5 year old plays Memoir44 with me...he calls it M44. He loves all of my mini's as well. My 3 year old has fleeting interest. My wife...she wont step foot in a gaming store. She has played a few boardgames with me and some of my buds(bless her soul) like Twighlight Imperium, Lord of the Rings risk and the old Dungeon game and of course she does well.

Mine is easy on the eyes as well, but wont step foot in our local gaming store. She did a few times...the first few years we were together. I think walking in there and being eyed like Ted Bundy is watching has made her refuse anymore.

I agree. We have all types of gamers actually. A couple of firefighters, quite a few Police Officers(including me), a Univerity of Miami professor a freaking Doctor, business owners, Military, plenty of family man with 9-5 jobs...we could rule the world and many of us are socially acceptable. I like to call myself a closet nerd. Im not ashamed of my gaming habits at all. I just caught on to the hygene and dressing properly thing cuz I like women too much to have never touched one.

I think the people who do not fit the stereotype end up being way more fun to play with... When I play some people when all they have is wargaming, I find them very invested in the game and tend to power game or argue more.

You hit it on the head. They are usually nasty and power game. I play for fun and the fluff...I do like to win though, but not at the expense of having fun. If I get to a point where I want to lunge over the table and snatch the life outta my opponent...its time to go home.

So true. I think everyone has had that feeling at some point. I think that's why it's fun to play games you are not familiar with because you have no idea if you are cheating or not lol.

Me and my buddies, the same two that I've been gaming with for the longest time, have found that sweet, salty, and spicy work the best....While chowing down on spicy pork rinds , mike and ikes, and wash them down with what ever beverage we choose. usually a pepsi product of some kind.

We eat before gaming or after a game. Drinks are fine but off table and away from the table.
