oh, btw, I had all of that and sold it.. my WD collection staterd in the double digits. I know I went further back than that. and at 1 point, I was getting 2 of each issue; 1 to save and 1 to cut up for the articles and hobby bits. [back then you actually got cardboard parts to make bunkers, houses & such. also stats on modles or proposed models, like Felix & Gotek.
Heh, I was called a Grognard.

Yep and so far every issue I have checked...SKADOOSH! all the card board and cutouts are intact in the issues. Even something called "Dark Eldar Arena of Blood" kind of gladiator arena combat skirmish game. There is all kinds of kewl stuff in these old issues....and the Golden Demon Winning entries....are you kidding me??? they barely rate good table top standard by todays standards lol

Yes the painting was not up to todays par but the hobbie had to evolve from some where. I still recall the first gamesdays in a small hall in Towson MD. My favorite person to talk to was Jess Goodwin. Could sit with a sandwich and pop and talk for hrs. Personally I believe those where the good old days of gaming and collection. This shows my age but we all have our dogtown and we paved the way.
