+1 on this

It always puzzles me that people will list all their used stuff then only want mint in return.

I just had someone say they have 2 boxes of NoS cavalry. 5 models in each box comes to 10 models.
He then pm's saying he has 1 box with 5 riders no horses and 1 box with rider no horse and 4 riders & horses.

That's only 4 riders & horses and 6 riders. Not 2 complete sets. He didn't reply when I offered to trade for retail of only 4 models.
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

I don't have a problem with people who are getting rid of used models (painted, assembled or whatever) but only want NIB or NOS models. As long as they're valuing everything fairly (they are lowering the value of theirs in comparison to the new stuff) and willing to CONSIDER that others might still consider their stuff to have a lower value than they are suggesting, what does it hurt?

I've gotten some really good deals by being willing to do some repairs.

I expect honesty about models' conditions, thank you.

If they are willing to devalue their stuff then that is fine, but for people to expect a model to model trade (horrible models for NIB/NOS) then it is a problem. And there are people out there who are not willing to lower the value of their models but a decent percent in order to make the deal fair for both parties. That is what my argument was, it is rather situational.

Gotcha.
Yeah... Retail for retail when mine's new and yours is busted up is loco.

I have had amazing luck when it comes to newer traders lately. They don't respond to anything at all. When an ad says, " I want X, and will buy it" and yet fail to respond even with a "no longer needed, price is too high, I only pay in Rupees, etc." I get ever so steamed. Seriously, if you are not ACTUALLY going to buy or trade, don't make a thread. It's like those silly "blog" threads on another game site. "Awesome stuff inside!" *click* "here is a link to my lame blog, where I will tell you my opinion on stuff and you may get a juicy virus! Yay!".

I want to e-slap people sometimes.
Always remember that your stuff is nearly worthless junk. The other person's items are highly valuable collectibles.

If I owe you a reference, please remind me.

I don't expect people to wait forever for an answer, and expect the same courtesy.

Yeah, I've had a rash of no-responds, too. I kinda wish there was a "Post a Reference" option, "PM'd them politely, PM'd a reminder, never got an answer."
