? about selling large lot or amounts

Hello to all,

I am pondering selling my almost complete collection of legion of everblight army. My concern is with my feedback being low I would likely end up having to ship first if it sells. My question is, has anyone had any personal experience doing this and what beyond checking trader feedback and delivery confirmation should I do to protect myself? Another question I have would be which would be better, to break up a large lot or to sell as a lot?

Well, there are many factors when selling. Large lots usually require large discounts to sell as a lot. Breaking things into smaller groups usually works better and nets better prices for you although you'll likely still have a hard time moving less desirable models. (battle box figures for example) Also, even good, table top standard paint jobs tend to devalue models around here. Although if it's a full, fully painted army you might get lucky. If it's a partially painted army you'll likely be looking at having to offer larger discounts to make up for the work the buyer is going to have to put into it. Make sure you take, and post, good pictures of all the models.

As far as protecting yourself I'd ensure that the package required a signature for delivery and had full tracking and insurance.

what beyond checking trader feedback and delivery confirmation should I do to protect myself

You can expect a LOT of input on this, I suspect. Here are a few off the top of my head:

1) Exchange phone numbers - home #, preferably. CALL the phone number you receive to confirm it's valid. Let your trade partner know ahead of time that you'll be doing this.
2) Always get an address. You'd be amazed what you can find on someone with their address
3) Trade with experienced traders. CHANCES ARE that someone who has a rating of 50+ or, especially, 100+ isn't going to rip you off.
4) If you're REALLY particular, you can sed it registered. It costs more, but requires a signature. packages with Delivery Confirmation can sometimes just be left sitting on the porch.
5) Insure it. A wise trader has often said (I paraphrase), "If it isn't worth paying the few bucks it costs to insure it, then don't bitch about it when it comes up missing."
6) CHECK the person's references. Who would you rather send first to; someone with a 50 rating or 60? The experienced trader says that it depends on what the references actually SAY. The guy with 50 could have all stellar refs, but the guy with 60 could have had 100 at one time, but his last 4 trades all left him negatives for not sending his side, paying promptly, poor shipping, etc.

That's about all I have off of the top of my head.
