Not getting email notifcations about pm's

Gmail user here and I've not received any notifications either. Frustrating.

I'm in the same boat, and when I tried to change my email address to one that handles spam more intelligently, I got a message that the domain (me.com) has no valid MX record. Me.com is owned by Apple and is a perfectly legit domain - why can't I use that email address?

Apparently, and I'm JUST guessing, there's a problem on our end with that. My guess is that it has to do with the recent server change. It's happening anytime anyone wants to change their email address.
Our web guy is out this week, so he can't really look at it.

In the mean time, if you want to change your email address, send a PM to Porkuslime or myself. Tell us what you want it changed to and we'll get to it as soon as we can (LOL Jim's gonna love me volunteering him for this!).

I never changed my email address. Been the same for a few years now. (just trying to problem solve this with you guys)

yep.. let me know what to do and I will do my best to help.. I am mostly online though from midnight until 7am eastern..

I am not receiving email notifications since the first half of November. I use hotmail.com.

My settings are okay (like the OP) and the email admin at b-town dot com is in my safe list as it always has been since I registered.

I believe this happened since the day when we couldn't connect a couple of weeks ago.

FYI, I now receive new PM emails through a gmail address, which seems to work fine. (Although I swear, I had the previous bartertown address in my safe list).

I am in the same boat here also. I use Yahoo (although I did just change to it in the last few months).
I didn't notice (because I haven't been on all that much lately) until I started up a recent trade.

Thanks for any help. I very much like to get email notifications when I get PM's.

To advise--I am now (but was not previously) receiving PM notifications from the gmail address. I have not added it to my safe list, though I will.

Worked out a few kinks in the gmail notifier bot that cropped up. Hopefully things will be less intermittent now.

Please be sure you've whitelisted (or added to your contacts list) the bot e-mail: bartertown.notifier [at] gmail.com. Gmail is pretty picky about what it thinks is spam, so if it's not whitelisted, you may not get it.

If you do not receive notifications and you should be, let me know!

I finally got an email notice that a topic on the board has been updated.
I haven't changed anything in any of my settings; here or on my email.

Looks like some, if not all, of the bugs are worked out.

Yeah, getting there. The switch to Google has introduced some interesting quirks that have to be addressed. The notification system will be hit or miss until all the bits and bobs get tweaked just right, but once that's done it should be smooth sailing. While things get worked out, 90% of the e-mails should go through just fine, and any that don't are completely at random - so if you don't get a notification and you should have, it's likely nothing you did wrong - the system just hasn't quite settled in yet.

With any luck (and a bit of programming skill) everything will be fine by the weekend.
