my post here: viewtopic.php?t=145550 was locked and i dont know why and would just like to know

also it says that:

"Sorry, your last post was 519 hours, 15 minutes, and 10 seconds ago in this forum.

The Bartertown rules (specifically rule #13) require that your new posts are at least 7 days apart.

Please feel free to edit/update your original post until then."

519 hours is 21 days...

the above was posted on the 18th which is clearly not 21 days....

id just like to post a new topic and hopefully clear the remaining things

Per rule #13:

Rule #13: Ad Posting & "Post Bumping"
Please note that Bartertown users are limited to one topic/ad per forum per seven calendar days (four days for Bartertown Plus members).
For those of you who don't understand this: Look at a calendar. If I post an ad on 3 July in the 40k forum I may not repost an ad to that forum until 10 July. That is seven calendar days. It's a legal term.

Example:
Let's say I have some LOTR Riders of Rohan I want to get rid of and other miscellaneous stuff from WHFB and 40K. I can post an ad with those items together in the LOTR, WHFB and 40K forums. Seven calendar days later, I can post another ad with the same items OR I can edit the ad at any time.
What I can't do is relist the items every day in each forum.

Helpful Hint: The idea here is to prevent excessive promotion of one's trade/sale items or discussion topics. Users are prohibited via software from making more than one new topic per seven days, but there are other ways to self-promote. It's awkward wording, but "post bumping" is a term understood by the greatest number of people.
(Note that the software prohibition has been temporarily disabled. YOU are responsible for knowing and following the rules)

If you've got items that fit into multiple categories, you may cross-post given the stricture above. You may update your ad as you see fit provided your purpose is not to attempt any form of bumping.
Updating an ad is not bumping if there have been changes made to the inventory or pricing presented in the ad. It is bumping if "hey i still have this stuff available" is all that's written, or something to that extent.Interest shown in an ad is not bumping. If you see something posted a few days ago that catches your fancy (and it's not your ad!) replying is not bumping.

Users who bump their threads will have their threads locked or deleted and will receive a board warning. While you are free to edit your initial post as often as you would like, please be mindful of these rules.

It was determined that you 'bumped' your thread so a staff member locked it per the second red highlighted area.

What you should have done was edit your thread to include the picture, even after doing so you are not allowed to state that you have done so or be in violation of the above rule.

We implemented this new policy after our recent 'black out' when the boards were actually 'bumping' - that feature has now been disabled but the rule will remain in effect for the near future.

FWIW, if it's after your 7 day window next time, don't bother editing your thread. Trade ads don't bump. You're better off by copy/pasting the text into a NEW ad and updating it there.

Ignore the TIME on that notice. that is not fixed yet. All that matters is that it's letting you know your 7 days is not up.

There's a 7 day new-thread rule in the advertising forums, and we have software that enforces this.

Yeah... that part IS weird.

When it first started acting up, it was giving people their last post time in SECONDS... and, if you added the seconds up, it came to, like, 3000 years or something. lol
Once the 7 days was up, though, they could post fine.

I just got a warning and my thread locked but I swear it has been 7 days. 7 days and 10 for that matter since I had posted. Should have just done a new thread but I didn't want to clutter up the board. But now I'm pretty sure my thread has been locked and I've been given a warning for no reason. Posted a thread just after 12 noone on 8/30 and bumped it on 9/6 at 10PM?

The rules prohibit "bumping", period. Updating with new information is permitted, but if you actually say that you are bumping a thread, then you're going to get nailed.

I'd also like to point out that posting a new thread is not cluttering up the boards. The boards self trim so after a certain extent of time ads fall completely off. So if you can post a new ad do so.
