Black Library books? worth selling?

Post by Fiddybucks »

hi guys and gals,

I haven't sold or traded before. I have been out of the hobby for awhile now and I am moving to a smaller place and need to get rid of some of my stuff.

Mainly a box full of Black Library 40k novels. I have a lot of the Horus Heresy books: Horus Rising -A Thousand sons. They have been read so aren't in pristine condition.

My question is should I even bother trying to sell them (I don't need trades as I am out of the hobby now) or should i just dump them, as I really don't plan on reading them again.. thank you in advance.

I wouldn't just dump them in the trash or something

I would think some would be interested in them as I'm still looking for the sabbat worlds book myself,,,,others might be looking for the collection or to fill in gaps they have or what not so its worth at least a shot you might not get full price but somethings better than nothing

Agreed, I wouldn't dump em in the trash. If you don't want to go through the selling process for them, you could see if the local library takes book donations, or give them away at your local game shop.
I will often check PM's and the forums on my cellphone, but it's difficult as hell to post/reply using it. So if you see I've seen your message, or you see me online, don't be concerned if I don't reply right then. I will reply once I get to on the computer. If it's urgent, let me know and I'll reply on the cellphone...but I'll frown the whole time. ;)

you can try trading or selling them here.

what you have left you can try trading at www.paperbackswap.com

it's free. it gives you credits to get books. just setting up an account and listing 10 books yields you 2 credits.
books cost 1 credit.
it costs you postage to ship books. everybook you trade/ship gains you 1 credit.

so the books aren't free to ship, usually about $2-3.
so getting a book costs about $2-3.

When I signed up for PaperbackSwap.. it gave you 3 credits for listing 10 books.. has that changed?

(and I should mention, I LOVE PBS, and have traded books there with people from BT outside of this site.. )
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

Definitely sell them.
Do a bit of research first, though. Look at ebay completed auctions.

Some BL books are OOP and sought after. They can go for good money. As for the rest... even if you only get a couple bucks a piece, it's better than nothing.

I can guarantee that, if you post and ad with BL books, and I see it, I'm going to open the ad and buy some if you have what I want for a decent price.
I'm not the only one.

Lower rating? You ship first.
