A couple of years ago I was talking to one of the guys from Catalyst Games and he was telling me about the plastic Mechs they were about to release. The big thing he was excited about was a new technique using a micro diamond bit that their mold making company was using that allowed much more detail in their metal molds then previously capable in a metal mold but was a lot more expensive. GW might be using a similiar technique with their new molds.
By trading with me you agree that all signature based trade rules are not in force. If it isn't in the PM thread then it doesn't apply.

If they were CAD files, then I could see it. Most of these older minis that they are re-releasing are actual sculpts though.

Supply and demand. Inflation. Greed. :( If only Warhammer was popular... GW used to have a battle bunker in Oakville, On. Nope closed that. People just aren't as into it as they used to be. Which is sad because I feel like the game is the best it's ever been (40k that is).

The bunker in Oakville closed because the lease was up and since the warehouse had moved to the states (amalgamation of GW US and Canada to become GW NA) the warehouse was no longer needed. However the landlord wanted to keep it all together. Did not make sense to keep it there.

Hey all,

I read all six pages of this forum (im at work dont judge :P) and have gained some decent knowledge on GW and this price increase. IMO the price is rediculous but i havent bought a model from GW since the first army i built 3 years ago. I love the people complaining yet we are all on Bartertown, a website for trading these models for a reduced price due to the usage/condtion etc. This is the answer folk, if you don' like GW prices (Like myself) then you come on a website like this or ebay, haggle and barter util you get a price you like (In case you guys didnt know :P). I am tired of GW, a box of Tyranid Warriors (3) is 35 f***** dollars. Thats unexuseable, and there is no rationalizing that. You can go to walmart and get a better plastic model for less, just because it doesnt say GW. Now i understand this is a business and GW has employees etc. all good points brought up by earlier posts. BUT, instead of charging this garbage price of 35 dollars, make it reasonable and your sales/profit will increase. Im not going to get into this heavily because i would be reiterating previously stated points but it comes down to the post made earlier of putting it simply. If you don't like the prices, F*** GW and come here and trade with a great system that allows people from all over struggling with the same *edit* to converse about it. Most of the people here have older models or not NIB so they can provide deals etc. I want to pay for the models/hobby not the GW logo in the corner. I appreciate GW and what they do, providing us with 40k and other games but there is a line, and unfourtunatly for alot of folks, including myself, and they crossed it. So again, if you don't like the price come here, stop playing, or jump in this money pit we call 40k and enjoy it.

I will also say that the model change is cool but its not gonna make a huge difference for me. Im not into all the details and so i cant make a educated judgement but seems like a good decision used as an exuse to raise prices.

I will also say i feel for the Aussies and people of Japan because of the shafting thats happening to you. Especially for people running a gaming store, this must make it much harder and i feel for you because a place like this isnt really much of an option. At the same time for non-store owners, there are alternatives to buying off GW and i think with some effort you can pay significantly less.

Thanks BTown.
