Trading minis and video games

Post by v3r510nj »

I want to try and trade my minis for video games. I'm not sure how you would value the games versus the value of the minis (all metal vostroyans). My first guess would be making offers, but I researched used prices on gamestop and Hastings.com. Maybe we could trade at 25% off my minis for the used prices of games? I just don't think a lot of the games I want are worth 60$ if we were to trade retail for retail. Thanks for any advice.

How much would you sell the games for if you were getting cash for them?
That's a good starting point for their trade value.

If you're giving a "cash discount," then it might be a good idea to add a small premium (10% or something) to whatever your cash value would be.

How about differences in shipping? I know I should eat my part of the shipping costs, but it seams a little unbalanced. A 60$ game versus 60$ in all metal minis.

you can always haggle it out..

"The game is cheap enough to go First Class, my figures need to go Priority.. can you split shipping? (or toss in a couple bucks to help out) etc.. "
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

More often than not, you'll find your trade partner will expect you to cover your own shipping. Personally, I'm trading minis, not shipping. If I'm paying my end, I expect my trade partner to pay his end.
IMO, If he wants to even things out value-wise, he should negotiate the trade with that in mind.
