What are you doing this weekend?

Post by oaflord »

Hobby related of course...

I am currently in the middle of a painting bet. I have until April 3rd to finish 2,000 points of "whatever". Unfortunately nothing I have ordered has come in yet, so I am stuck on having only 1,440 painted up. 7 Gorgers and a Beast of Nurgle to go... My wife is working on her Sanguinary Guard for the bet. I wanted to get a game in, but family first... Little guy is turning 2 tomorrow. Someday soon he can join his sister at the painting table...

So what are you working on!!!

Happy Birthday to the "little guy!" Mine turned 18 months yesterday. I can't wait for him to grow up... so I can have someone to game with!

What am I working on? Well... I'm hoping the weather is nice enough (and I have the motivation) to finish cleaning my garage. That's not exactly 'hobby related' but it's where all my hobby stuff lives. Hoping to get organized and stay organized, but - then again - "hope" isn't a plan!

Saturday:
Twelve(ish) hours of 40K at my buddy's house. Just like almost every Saturday.

Sunday:
When I finally make my way down stairs, I'll log into this place to make sure nobody's blown it up, then I'll work some more on painting the 2 minis I'm working on for 2 of the players in my AD&D 2e group (one Saturday a month).

My oldest just turned 7 last week. He's painted a few things, and on a recent trip, we rummaged through the dollar bin at a FLGS to pick out a few metal figs that he could paint (again and again, if he wants - they can be stripped easily enough).

Hobby-wise, I am meeting friends tomorrow to start up a new RPG campaign, and I plan on getting a few PP figs assembled and primed this weekend, plus a couple Chronoscope figs, and getting some paint on some PP Skorne.

You guys suck, seriously. :-P

I wish I had friends around here that were into gaming. The fellas I've tried to recruit look at me like I just fell off the short bus.

12hrs of gaming w/buddies... blalbahhbabhaghahgahbahllab (the Homer Simpson sound when he sees a doughnut or a beer) - I could only dream of such a thing! :(

Sleep during the day, work overnight.

Thrilling.

However, the upside is that currently I am sitting at the work desk, and next to me I have my current painting project! (I love Saturday nights.. )

Painting up Dwarf Slayers and a test model for my IG..
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

Well, FWIW, gaming ended at like 8:30. The guy who hosts had an... invasive medical test... done Friday and was just beat. He couldn't last any longer, so we called it a night.

On the other hand, I received the following in the mail (all PRO painted):
2 Ravagers
Urien Rakarth
5 Hellions
10 Incubi

Since I got home early, I talked my wife into watching a movie I've wanted her to see for a while, but she's resisted; Big Butt Babes #24.
LOL J/K
I got her to watch "The Island." Even better than that, I got her to admit she liked it.

All in all, it was a very good weekend. LOL

#22 is SO much better IMHO. :-|

B-day party went well, found some time today to paint some Dire Avengers that were lying around. Had 2 so I basecoated and washed one and my 6 year old daughter did the other. Hers is almost as good...

Painting test minis for my SM Raptors chapter...
(First marines I've painted since 1993.)
5 so far and I haven't gotten to a decent olive drab or beyond something a 12 year old could produce.
Laughing at the premise of trimming flash with a hobby knife on these AOBR marines when they have about a 1mm mis-match on the mold line.
Good thing they are just test subjects...on to the next one :)

Finally got a weekend off (working 12 days in a row, 12 hour shifts at the moment) so I am doing what my ever so patient wife tolerates : scouring the internet for models that I will most likely never get around to painting or playing with

Current targets - Rogue Trader bikes/jetbikes/landspeeders. Gotta catch 'em all.
Always remember that your stuff is nearly worthless junk. The other person's items are highly valuable collectibles.

If I owe you a reference, please remind me.

In 12 days, that's 144 hours.
That's gross. :-|

Yep, it sucks. The paycheck makes my wife happy, but the hours make me less-so. Economic downturn my eye.

Ahha! I got it. 144 gross. I thought I was missing something, so I googled it. I am certainly not the sharpest chap, so thank goodness for the internet, haha.
