Im not a fan of all these litle mini-sub-forums. Some have only 3 topics. I think it is too much of a "good" thing. way too many sub-forums- it gets lost in the shuffle.

Re: Too much of a good thing.
So, how would you rearrange them so that they were grouped in a manner so as to make sense?

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

I would merge all the "discussion" forums. Way too many. Three should be fine- Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Misc./Other.
Old World, Card/board games,etc,etc- too much. some have 3 or 4 topics- thats it. They simply dont get any "traffic- because there too many.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Too much of a good thing.
Okay.
I think I misunderstood.
I was under the impression that you were concerned that there were too many "Categories" with too few "Forums" in them.
Looks like you're looking at it from a more "localized" p.o.v. than I initially thought.
Let me ask this, then.
Considering the fact that we intend for the forums to "open up" a bit, with more conversation as people get used to them, how do we handle the complaints from people who don't want their generic sci-fi (or fantasy) mixed in with GW, because the GW will drown them out?
Also, and you know I mean NO disrespect, do you visit those forums much? I don't recall seeing a lot of posts from you in there.
Are you lurking mostly?
If the answers above are NO/NO or Yes/Yes, then I have to ask why it's a big deal to you, if you're not taking part in most of them.
Again, just trying to get clarification. You know I'm not one of "those guys." : )

Re: Too much of a good thing.
Its not a big deal at all to me. I just thought Id mention it. Having so many of those forums ,cuts back on the traffic they each get. Most people arent gonna check every one of them. There are very few posts/threads.
Someone is really going to mind if there is chat about D&D and WHFRP in the same Fantasy Forum?! Really??

Re: Too much of a good thing.
Well, if their discussions are anything like their trading; God, yes!
Also, from what I've seen on other sites, if one system overwhelms a "generic" forum, those who post about *other* systems tend to get very vocal about "game system X' taking up too much space and pushing "other game system" discussions to the second page.
That's what we were trying to avoid, while still keeping it as small as possible (by combining generic fantasy & steampunk, for example).
