My problem with it is NOT the blockiness. In that sense, it really does fit in with the look of SM armies.

Look at the Caestus Assault Ram image I posted, though? It fits with the SM look just as much, and is a FAR better looking model. It even manages to look a bit sleek and elegant (IMO).

The Storm Raven, to me, really does look like someone put wings and a tail section on a dumpster. I think HZ really kind of hit the nail on the head there.

No--but it;s proportions are more in line with that of an aircraft than a tank...long and fairly narrow. It has the general (and I use the term loosely) shape of a plane.

This is the same argument that came up on BoLS.

The T-Hawk looks like a Space Marine vehicle. But not like a Land Raider than someone tacked some wings and jets on. It looks (as stated above) "plane-ish".

Now, I know that the THawk wouldn't really fly. But it looks like it could--maybe.

That Storm Raven looks like some one stacked two Rhinos on top of each, slapped on the Valk wings and said "Done!"

As for the Cestus...to me, it looks like a space borne assault ram. Blunt. Brutal. In and out. More like a one way missile than a plane.

You know, 40k wargamers are already pretty durn liberal with our level of, "suspension of disbelief," to help wrap our minds around the models on the playing table... but like others have stated - the thing has to at least look a little like it could be airworthy.

The first pic in the thread was utter nonsense - the weight distribution of such a vehicle is so mindboggingly, completely, well... off. So much so that it defies even my own willing suspension of disbelief - I would not fault anyone for playing it, but would NEVER in 40,000 years put one on the table myself, even if it were free.

The second pic in the thread was much better - it is not just a question of the angle, it is evident that the vehicle in the second has a longer fuselage, which for me was just long enough to bring it back into the realm of, "in the sci-fantasy-universe of 40k, that may actually work."
None of these things are VITAL, this is a HOBBY. A hobby we enjoy, but still, a HOBBY.

Lower rating ships or pays 1st, myself included. Used to be more flexible; but was burned in recent months by a few newbies. If 200+ feedback w/no negs and 10+ years member is not enough to be trusted, well, like I said - none of this is VITAL.

The second pic is rather interesting.

The first one,,looks horrible. While it would be kinda cool for a marine turret that looks rather eldarish, like a boxy version of a falcon.

I very much dislike the way this thing looks - too tall and bumbly, when it should be long and sleek like a Valk.

The shopped version is better, but it's looking like this thing is going to take some serious work to fix.

Am I the only one thinking it looks like they snuck into an ork encampment stole it and slapped the blood angel logo on the red painted thing?
Not liking the look of it but am glad that at least they made it. Could do with more new stuff that wasnt marine oriented though. lol

Yeah, my first thought was "Wave Scorpion turret." It does look a bit better without it. Bulldog40K from the Forum of Doom did a nice bash back in April. It's still a brick with rockets on, but hey, he makes anything look good when he's done painting it.

So I've heard. I haven't read any of the rules, but everyone I've talked to say that AV 14 on all sides plus carrying a dreadnought in addition to troops is just plain silly. What's wrong with the fluff?
A few trade guidlines:
1) If your feedback is significantly lower, I expect you to ship first, even if I'm buying- Money carries greater risks than minis: I can't buy groceries with a box of Tac Marines!
2) Communication is key! I'm a reasonable guy (I try,) so if there's a problem, tell me!
3) I package things well, you should do the same. Protect minis from each other, too.
4) Leave feedback!

AV14 all around would be beasty.

Sadly, that isn't the case. Front & sides are 12 and, IIRC, rear is 10.
That is why this thing really bites. They're 200 points, base, and die like guardsmen.

I disagree.
I don't think 12 all around would make any difference. Not on an overall basis.

I've never had one of these things assaulted. Every time someone in my group tried to see if they could make them work, they died miserably to shooting. Considering what they're capable of delivering to your front lines, and how fast they can do it, they're just too high a priority target for AV12.

I think lowering the points cost to the 100 - 120 range (tops) would've made it worth it.
Alternatively, something like a "13-13-12" Armor Value at 200 points.

Just for the record the Chibihawk does in fact have armor 12 all round. Not that it really matters, but I figured I'd set the record straight. Though when they come out in February I'll still probably pick up two of them. Goofy looking though they are.
