Harlequins are going to be the same as in the Eldar codex, IIRC... Expensive and overrated

...and with horrible models (Metal! Ugh!).

No. Some people have this ability to actually read the rulebook and figure out the solution to their dilemma. There IS a rule that covers every problem. Roll a D6.

That's not a rule, that's a copout by GW. Basically it gives anyone a 50% chance of winning any argument, whether they are right or wrong. So all you have to do when using that is disagree with anything, even if it's clear in the rules, and you have a 50% chance of getting your way. Seriously, it wouldn't take that much effort for GW to put out real "official" FAQs on a regular basis. Hell, I'd pay for them, just like I did back when they put them in the Annuals.

FAQs are for those who can't read, or don't have the desire to look up the info on the rule in question. If you can't be bothered to look it up and defend your argument, then roll a D6.

The D6 rule is not a copout. It is a way to keep the game moving. After the game is over, you go back and look the rule up and figure out a solution to the problem that occurred. Now if you are in a tournament, that's what judges and TOs are for; they make the rulings.

I don't know... when writing is ambiguous enough that two people can read the same sentence and get two different meaning, depending on inflection, I think a FAQ is necessary.

I take that back... clearer rule writing, even if it means more pages of content & less pages of advertisement & recycled artwork, is what's needed. FAILING THAT, I think we need FAQs (in many -but not all- cases).

I give GW credit that this book is the clearest (IMO) since I started playing in late 3e, but it does still need work.

Only ambiguity I've seen is people not bothering to read the WHOLE rule, and focus on one little tidbit within it. YMMV.

You better check out the discussion on warseer about the pain token being given to units that can't generate them on their own, from the new DE codex.
It's been quoted verbatim, and still is ambigious.

So no codex, just people saying what they read at the GW store? Meh, I'll have an opinion when I see it in print. I take everything I see on Warseer with a grain of salt.

One of my buddies has the codex crazy thing just happened in a game yesterday so wondering about this rule.

He has a dark raider that is full of a squad of wyches.

Dark Raiders can move 24 inches flat out.

So my buddy rams a rhino with his flat out movement rate, and auto pens his own armor.

It wrecks his dark raider, which turns into a vehicle destroyed because it is open topped (or a skimmer either way), then the models are placed not technically disembarked.

Are the wyches allowed to now assault in the assault phase?

Nothing actually says you can't because they did not disembark they were placed out of the vehicle because it blew up.

What happens in this case?

we have always played that in situations such as that (up until now it was ork trukks) that since they cannot technically disembark (for any reason) they die a horrible death, either in the twisted metal or by being thrown from the vehicle.
I think however there is sometihng in the open top section station that you cannot assault from any vehicle that has moved more than 12" (13" for red paint job)
For every battle honor, a thousand heroes die alone, unsung and unremembered.
