BTR: Mutton - Resolved by Mutton (miscommunication)

I initiated a trade with Mutton aka Kevin Star on July 31. I wanted to buy Mercenary and Retribution models that he had posted. I paid with paypal the same day after confirming he still had the models. He promised shipping Monday the 2nd. On the 4th he tells me that he doesn't have the models that really his friend has them and that his friend hadn't shipped. On the 5th he said he would refund shipping if they hadn't gone out yet. He hasn't replied back or logged on to bartertown since the 5th. I received an email from his "friend" Jacob Davis on Aug 10th. He said the models would go out on the 11th or 12th priority mail and that he was refunding shipping. I haven't heard anything from his since then despite the fact I have emailed him back multiple times and PMed the original poster.

I'm assuming that they haven't shipped. Remember, this is all taking place under your name and on your account. You dont want bad reference posted about you because your buddy screwed up. I would recommend grabbing the models and shipping them off your self... At the very least you should have better communication since your the middle man. $115.00 is a lot of money to be out and not even have a D/C yet.

Okay, he just got back to me; his bank messed up and overdrew him, yadda yadda sob story. He'll ship it tomorrow normally and refund shipping, or he can overnight it to you, your pick. If I don't hear back from you by shipping time, he'll just ship it normally and refund shipping.

I didn't mean to sound hostile so I apologize about that. I merely wanted to convey my feeling clearly. I have also taken on the role of the good friend and found trades for my friends but I also took on the role if the shipper and packager so no one would say that I was a bad trader.

Your buddy Jake contacted me by e mail. He said he would ship in 48 hours and refund money to my paypal. That was on Wednesday. I have not heard anything from him concerning delivery confirmation or received a refund. I have sent him 2 new messages via e mail and not received a reply back. Please find out what is going on.

Hey Jesse, I am really sorry about the delay in the shipment. Life crap, bills, paypal screwing up and taking funds instead of transfering, resulting in me paying NSF fees, etc etc and work schedule blah blah has been nutty. If this is your email that you run paypal through, I am going to refund you for $30 and still ship out within the next 48 hours as priority.

It's a shame. He's at a 10 rating right now and, if you ding him, it'll slam him back down to zero. Shoot... four of his ref's mention his swift shipping. Bummer on the reputation hit.

You've waited 3 weeks. That's ample time. I suggest you file a paypal claim. if you receive the models, you can always close it.

He hasn't logged on or read any messages since Aug 5th.

His buddy hasn't replied to any emails since Aug 10th.

I opened a Paypal dispute today. I haven't upped it to a claim yet as I want to give him time to reply via Paypal and to ship the models.

I wouldn't wait to much longer, the cash is probably already out of the account and any chance you have for actually getting any money from Paypal is virtually nil.

I got a D/C and a fairly nice refund today. The Paypal Dispute must have got his interest or reminded him that I was still waiting.

I wouldn't consider this resolved yet but when I get the package in the mail and see that it is all there I'll let you all know.

Package arrived today. Everything was there plus extra cards, books, models.

I am very happy with the outcome of this trade. The extra stuff plus a refund more then made up for the late shipping.

Mutton left on vacation and thought the trade had been resolved. It was his friend that messed up and forgot to ship. I have nothing bad to say about Mutton.

I would have no problem trading with Mutton again.
