Moved from 40k For Sale/Wanted to Questions.

And.. to answer your question.. depends on which of the 2 books it is. The First one (I think with Khorne and Nurgle?) is the lower valued of the 2, and I think is slightly more common than the other one.

I have seen sets of the 2 go for 150-200 bucks IF in near mint condition, much less if they are damaged.

At Origins in the dealers room, someone had a set that had been magic-markered inside the pages and crayon colored the daemons.. and they still wanted 80 bucks for the set.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

The first book "Slaves to Darkness" is the more common of the two. It contained Khorne and Slannesh in it
The Second "The Lost and the Dammed is the rarer of the two and contained Nurgle and Tzeentch.

But yeah Pork is pretty good in his assessment on the books.

Pork: did the orgins set sell? just curious.

I paid $80 each for a pair that were literally mint. I got them from a local guy.

Before that, I chased some autions as high as $100-$120/volume. Condition varied.

I've never seen a set in as good of shape as mine are. The downside is that, unlike my Rogue Trader book which I've read cover to cover a couple of times, I'm very delicate with them.

Thanx, I got laid off back in September because our campus went federal and was out of work until April. Then, I got another job that paid $5.50 an hour less then what I was making before I got laid off and had to take it out of desperation. Then, In July, I got laid off again. This time because my geographical area did not produce enough clients to justify my position. So, now I am out of work and desperatly searching again. Right now, looking at what I am getting on unemployment, we will not have enough to make our September house payment and we are already scrimping as much as we can.
Having a yard sale tomorrow and for the next couple weekends too. Those close to Charlestown or Martinsburg WV, give me a holler and I can give directions. I have a few 3'/3' squares of foam insulation and old magic cards. Maybe some odd models if your interested. Not going to put a lot of gaming stuff out because usual yard salers dont know what its worth and I dont wanna argue with a parent to explain why I wont sell my 6 man Golfag's Ogres for 50 cents total.
I have both of the RoC books and some other stuff, I would sell to someone who wants to come to the house or on here. Thanx for the info, I'll go post for sale in the correct forum.

I sold mine years ago along with my Rogue Trader. I got about $50 - $100 each fo them. The RT was read once, the 2 RoC were never even opened.
1 of the books went to a guy in Germany. He paid by...Western Union?, [it was about 10+ years ago]. Anyway, he paid all the fees and had it shipped Express Mail. Shipping was about $40. When he got it he was very, pleastantly surprised. He said he thought his were mint, until he saw mine. He wanted to buy anything/everythign else I had at that time, sight unseen. He sent an email letter of recomendation, [which I lost when my hard drive crashed]. That was before b-town had feedback.

It really depends on the buyer on how much, thry want it on how much they'll pay..I mean look at comic books.
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

Prices vary. If you use ebaaaa the prices vary based on the time of day and day they are posted. Beat ones like cover ripped off 50-60. Good shapes range from 80-120. Be patiant and you can snag them. I snagged a slaves for 46.00 and a copy of advanced heroquest for 55.00. The lost and the damned is of course the cooler of the two IMO. I will get one soon enoough. Great reads!!!
