Mapping Software?

Post by Stanislav »

Hey all, I am looking for some kind of program to help me draw a sewer system. Typical dungeon drawing program that I can kind of plan out what I am building in 3d. I have run into a snag, and I looked online. Way tooooo many possibilities...

Anyone had luck with a particular one? Dundjinni? Something else? Willing to spend a little, but I am not an RPGer, so not looking to invest tons in it.

Lower rating? I ask that you ship first. Also, if I offer a stupidly good deal and you try to negotiate even lower...don't call it bad communication that you didn't get a reply. I deleted the message.

This is the best one out there, hands down.

I have no experience with the free ones.

My question about that, though (because I’m equally curious about map programs), is how much do you get with the basic program? There are a lot of add-ons, which makes me think the basic program is just that – very basic. Is it one of those deals where you get a handful of symbols and whatnot with the basic program, but for it to really be worth its salt, you have to shell out the cash for all of the expansions and upgrades?

I just reread the piece about the sewer system.

That's dungeon designer, it does the underground stuff better.

To Reegsk's question: Each of the main programs (Cartographer, Dungeon, City) does a high level job of creating pretty much anything you can imagine within its specialty. I own all three from V.2 and love them.

Take a look at: http://www.profantasy.com/evidence/gallery.asp the first 5 maps are all CC3 - Standard. Some are tweaks on the basic package, but were done with customizations from users, not add-ins.
