So Ive been looking pretty consistently for some Hordes Legion of Everblight stuff, and 75% of the time I contact someone they say its already gone. As far as Im concerned thats fine, but when I check the listings the next day the same post is there with the same items listed. Its very frustrating to deal with...
I know its not a rule of the site, but I think it would be common courtesy to update your listing when you sell stuff. My rant is over now, you can go back to not caring. Thanks!
But why?

But why?
***I prefer not to do International Deals as shipping costs are quite oppressive...
***The most common definition for "retail" is what you can buy something for in the store, not some online wholesale outlet. Thus, when you trade something retail for retail you are trading for the value in the LGS. If Im selling for 50% of retail, thats 50% of what you'd pay at your LGS.
***Please have the decency to answer my PMs, even if its just to say "no thanks"...

Re: But why?
For what it's worth, I've been guilty of that to a small degree, and I always feel really bad when someone tries to buy something that I no longer have and forgot to update on the list.
A few trade guidlines:
1) If your feedback is significantly lower, I expect you to ship first, even if I'm buying- Money carries greater risks than minis: I can't buy groceries with a box of Tac Marines!
2) Communication is key! I'm a reasonable guy (I try,) so if there's a problem, tell me!
3) I package things well, you should do the same. Protect minis from each other, too.
4) Leave feedback!

Re: But why?
Same here, unfortunately.
I really do try to update my posts, but w/a newborn and my desire to avoid wife aggro, it can be a day or month before I get to updating it.
What I find interesting is when I do update the post with my typical PENDING behind the item, the person sends me a PM from a post that's 7 weeks old asking if that item is still available!
... so did this fella just keep going back in time until he found one of my posts that didn't have pending because that's the item he wants? Or... maybe he did what I do and scrolls through these posts when he's about falling asleep and forgets that the most recent post, six posts ago, said that item was PENDING -hehe

Re: But why?
Hey - at least you received a reply to your PM. I have at times not even had that. I can kind of understand forgetting to update a thread in the euphoria of a done deal, but can't we reply to PMs?So Ive been looking pretty consistently for some Hordes Legion of Everblight stuff, and 75% of the time I contact someone they say its already gone.

Re: But why?
heh, true.
My personal pet peve is getting a new pm with every reply during a trade. As opposed to just getting a RE: and being able to easily scroll down message history to make sure all the stuff in the trade is the same. otherwise with a new reply every time i have to open up multiple windows/tabs to see all the relevant pms.
Slightly whiny i know, but just a pet peve not a deal breaker for me.

It is kinda hard to trade when people don't reply to PMs or posts.
Please reply, lots of us want your stuff.
And besides it is the polite thing to do.
I only ship priority mail only and would like my trading partners to do the same.

Re: But why?
OMG I hate that...My personal pet peve is getting a new pm with every reply during a trade. As opposed to just getting a RE: and being able to easily scroll down message history to make sure all the stuff in the trade is the same. otherwise with a new reply every time i have to open up multiple windows/tabs to see all the relevant pms.
What i also hate is when you are working on a deal with a guy for a week, and have worked out 99% of the details and then the guy gets another offer and trades it off without even giving you a chance to counter offer.
It just happened to me yesterday and if I could have I would have reached through the screen and strangled the guy. It was an item I would have paid double if not triple of what we were negotiating but that is not what he was asking. I tried to nail the guy down for a concrete deal but he wanted to give everyone a chance that had express original interest. So I waited a week for the guy to accept all offers. Each day saying my offer was still the best. He then messaged me, "Only 1 guy left, I am going to give him till the end of the day." I messaged him multiple times that week always telling him that I do not want to miss out on this item. Make sure you get back to me if you get a better offer. You would think that this total simpleton would have gotten the point that I would offer more. I didn't care I REALLY wanted that item. I didn't care if he tried to hose me for another 25%-50% with scare tactics like most people do if they know you REALLY want an item. The idiot then messages me the day after "I accepted the last guys offer. Hope you are not to upset."
I was utterly dumbfounded. I was like "WHAT!!!!!!!!!! You stupid (place many many expletives here)" Maybe i didn't make my self clear enough for a (edit) (edit) (edit) (well you get the picture). Needless to say. This was the most upset I have EVER been on Bartertown. I actually had to walk away from my computer, so I didn't throw it at the wall. It actually surprises me how clueless some people are. I am in sales so I am trained to pick up on slight cues and hints people are giving.
So here is a piece of advice for all you people.
If someone is hounding you about an item... THEY REALLY WANT IT!!!!
If they say please get back to me... THEY REALLY WANT IT!!!!
If they say please give me a chance if someone offers more... THEY REALLY WANT IT!!!!
If someone does these things, try and work a deal with them because... THEY REALLY WANT IT!!!!
You can proabably get more trade or cash because... THEY REALLY WANT IT!!!!
