Good Trader section? Why?
Greetings!
Im wondering what exactly is the point of the Good Trader section? Isnt that the whole reason for posting references? I post references for trades- not in the Good trader section. It just seems like a waste of space & time. If I want to check on a trader- i check references. I dont care if you have 40 posts in the Good trader. If you REALLY are a good trader- the other guy will give you a reference.
Anyone else?

Re: Good Trader section? Why?
It started back when the ITL was down. Now it is supposed to be for those outstandingly-OMG-stupendous-Good traders. The ones that go above and beyond.
I've the same thinking as you though, don't really see a need for it.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

It isn't like I am even in it.. maybe one or 2 times, tops..
But since it doesn't take up much board space, there has not been too much incentive to take it down.
And, as Ironhide mentioned, it is used MAINLY when there is a problem with the Ref System..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Re: Good Trader section? Why?
It's actually been around longer than that.
The "Good trader" forum was created based on member request. Someone asked for it (since, after all, we have one for the BAD guys). It's initial intent was for EXCEPTIONAL traders. People who just went above the norm. You traded your SW for his DA and, since he knew you were just building your DA, he threw in a ton of DA specific bits... or just gave you DOUBLE retail value in trade because he knew it was going someplace it would be used and didn't want the extras laying around... or any other possible action that might've made him stand out head & shoulders above the rest of the traders you've dealt with.
Over the years, though, it just kind of devolved into "TraderXYZ is a good duy to trade with."
While it came in VERY MUCH in handy during the ITL fiasco, it wasn't actually created for that.
...and, as Jim said... it's not a real space waster or anything, so there's no reason to get rid of it. Enough people like it to keep it around.

I wasn't quite sure about what tone you were trying to convey. Sorry if I took it differently than how you intended.

I apologize if I offended anyone. But i still think the Good Trader section serves no real purpose- but if people like it- great.JohnHwangBT wrote:I wasn't quite sure about what tone you were trying to convey. Sorry if I took it differently than how you intended.

Re: Good Trader section? Why?
I agree... but it's popular and is a nice "feel-good" section. People use it, so... more power to them.

And the more good feelings that get spread around, maybe they will actually start to sink in and cause some positive changes elsewhere in life. Yes, I'm serious about that.MagickalMemories wrote:I agree... but it's popular and is a nice "feel-good" section. People use it, so... more power to them.

And I love you, too! All of you, really! Even the "bad" traders. They haven't gotten enough love and that's why their section exists.starslayer wrote:Jeramakus I love you.
