That's not TFG. That's a good Imperial Commander saving an Imperial citizen from a fate worse than death!

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Thing is, if they are going to do stuff like that, then it obviously isn't a friendly game. That is like saying "Hey whats that over there" raising your hand quickly and knocking the checker board over.
That scenario is meant to be a "beer and peanuts with your friends" kind of game.
Which is generally the style of games my group and play, unless we are preping for a tournament.
Then again at 600 pts, you are not going to have "tons of heavy weapons" just laying around to nuke that one squad.
600pts sounds fairly "B&P" to me

Yep. I think we'll do fine. I don't think he is a power gamer. Nor us.
It's just for fun.
John, have a beer...

Re: Good 3 Player 40K scenerios????
Well, we ended up playing the "survivor" scenario. We also did the three corners thing with me in the middle. I also ended up getting the first turn, so the units I had to get the survivor became pretty quick targets (Ogryns and a Veterans squad with a Commissar). My Ogryns came within an inch of getting the survivor before a flurry of shooting from the Tau and an assault from my wife's gaunts finally did them in. One cool part of it for me was when my Commissar with a power fist killed my wife's Carnifex in close combat (after the Veteran squad had all been eaten).
My wife grabbed the survivor once with her wounded Tyrant and made for the board edge. But, my Leman Russ just got enough hits to kill the Tyrant. She would've won the game but all her gaunts started milling about without a synapse creature.
On the last turn, Ken finally got his crisis suits to the survivor and won the game. It was a fun game with a lot of turns and twists. The Commissar killing the Carnifex really changed the game. And my wife's ripper swarms kept the Tau busy for quite a long time. Plus, she paid extra for "without number" on her gaunts. We thought that this would win the game for her, but without synapse creatures it ended up being a little comical.
Thanks for the ideas guys. It was fun to actually play a game with someone new.

I'm glad the scenario worked out. Simple scenario, millions of ways for it to end.
The flip flop sounds alot like what happens in our games, though it sounded like a game changing flip flop happened more than once.

Another good idea I find for three player games is for each player to have to kill the oponent to their right, and only get vp's for killing units of that player. So each tends to have to defend against the person to the left while at the same time attacking heavily right. The swirl of death.

Re: Good 3 Player 40K scenerios????
Thanks.
Our friend has been back again and just played against my wife in a 1500 point game (I went rules hunting during the game). It looked good for a little while until the Bugs got into the Tau firing line. Then it got ugly. Next time he comes over he is going to take on my Necrons. I have heard that the Necrons took a beating on the new rules (especially the new glancing blow rule). We'll see...
