Questions about a post size

Post by deadlyevans »

Hey B-Town

I've just about finished cataloging a bunch of my old game-related stuff that I'm interested in putting up here as post, but there is a bit of a catch:
When typed out in word, it's a 10+ page document. I'm getting rid of a lot of minis, haha.

So, what's the standard policy for this? Should I just go ahead and post it all out, or should I upload the document as an attachment? I'm still basically new here, so I don't want to go around making some giant faux-pas.

Up to you.

I guess you could post it, and see what happens - it's probably easier for most people to respond to.

I don't recall the size, but there is a limit on how many characters you can put into a post.
I'm SURE 10+ pages would go over.

You should just box it all up and send it to me.

LOL

Barring that, I suggest you cut it up by game/genre and post each into its' respective section.

Post 40K in the 40K forum, along with your want list.
Post general fantasy into that forum, along with your want list.
Board games... etc...

Put a note in each stating that you also have items in other sections (maybe go back and edit in links to each, once all your posts are in).

Unless you have God awful amounts of each, they should all fit into separate posts like that.

Haha, the problem is that most of the stuff is all Heroclix/Heroscape/Haloclix, which would all fall into the same forum (I think), haha. I think I'm going to go with the attached documents, a seperate one for each game.

Thanks!

Yes. They'd all be "Collectable Miniatures Games For Sale/Wanted"
viewforum.php?f=23

Let me see if I understand what you're saying... You're going to create the lists as documents and attach them?
To be honest, I'm not sure you can do that (never needed to, so never looked).
You CAN take a series of screen shots of your list, though, and upload the images as attachments to your post.

Yeah, I just tried, can't upload .txt or .docx.

I guess I'll just have those interested PM me for the entire list.

Who knew an internet-yard sale would be so tough :P

Or...
Just open your .txt document, hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard & paste it into MS Paint.
Save it as a .jpg and upload it to your post as an attachment.
Do that for each list (or section of a list) and attach them all.
Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes or so, total.
