Trading Advice

Please bear with me, a situation has arisen and I am not sure if the situation is alright or not. I am very new to Btown, having made just a couple of trades and do not want to accuse a much more experienced trader if what they are doing is, in fact, acceptable. On Friday, this experienced trader posted a large list of items they wished to sell, along with desired prices. I responded Saturday morning with an offer for portion and within 10 minutes got a reply that he was going to think over the many offers he had received. I waited three days, during which there was no communication, and sent a follow up email asking if he had arrived at a decision. No Reply, but 12 hours later I saw his entire list posted on another site(RM) under a different name. However, the geographical location is the same and there is no mistaking his list.

So my questions are as follows:
1) Is this ethical trade procedure? It seems the rules prohibited posting here and ebay, isn't it the same with another trade site?
2) After this much time would I be correct in withdrawing my offer? Or would that be backing out of a deal?
3) Should I report this to the admin's?

There's no problem with him posting the list here and on RM. It's a common occurance for traders to cross post to numerous sites. If he did it after you PMed him and offer, he probably thought he could do better if he held out a bit.

Posting to 2 trade sites isn't the same as herre and Ebay. On here & feebay, it's possible that he agrees to trade it here, but it sells on feebay before he can cancel the auction. On here & another site, however, he's only taking offers. He can just decline any offers on items that come in after he trades/sells them off.


You can withdraw it, but there's no need to actually PM him a withdrawal. You changing your mind is good enough. If he DOES PM you, you can just tell him too much time lapsed and you're no longer interested. It's not a back out until you BOTH say you agree to the deal and terms. So, you're safe there.

No need to report it. There's nothing there abnormal or unethical, unless he's trading the same items to multiple people which, if he has adecent rating, he's probably not doing.

You can send a PM withdrawing your offer without any problems. You are not even close to having a deal set.

Nothing to report.

You can send a PM withdrawing your offer without any problems. You are not even close to having a deal set.
