A Question

Post by saifb123 »

Hello all,

I'm in need of some advice so if you could kindly look upon me to grant said advice, i'd be thankful.

If I am in the process of making a deal, but nothing has been agreed yet and one party mentions that I'm on the backout list (which I admit I am) and that they don't like the fact and that I have to send first, note that I didn't offer yet nor did I see any proof of him actually having the mini's, I requested pics of them and sent my email so that they could send the pics and via versa.

I didn't feel like it was a request and more like a demand so I thought this person might not be nice to deal with and told him/her I was no longer interested. They sent back a PM stating they would like the deal to go through but if I didn't they would list me in the backout forum again.

What should I do?

Thanks

Well, since a deal hasn't been formed; the minis and trade value or price wasn't agreed upon; there isn't anything to back out of.

What is the other traders feedback rating? If his is low like yours, well.. then it's up to you. If it's higher, especially if it's considerably higher, then he might just be protecting his interests; as far as having you ship first.

The threat of retaliation is something that should be sent to the mods. I suggest you copy all the pm's to either wordpad, wordperfect or notepad, save them in a file; then send it to the mods. They'll probably note it, adn then if he does that, he'll probably get bounced.

Please send me this. This personally smacks to me as a form of ITL intimidation. Which is a big no-no.

Unless both of you have agreed on price/trade, it is not a backout.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

He is a new user, only has two posts and no rating.

@IronHide, I've sent you the PM.

Well it's in Ironhide's capable hands.

Since he has no rating, and you have one, albiet a low one since you're new also; I'd have suggested simultainous shipping. If it was large trade; break it up into smaller pieces. Yes, the shipping would be more, but neither of you would be out alot of $ if something happened.

I read over saifb123 PM trail, and it doesn't look like a backout to me. So if the other trader does post a backout, I (and another staff member) will have something to compare it to. So the other trader better have some good documentation if he goes that route.

If you decide you don't want to trade before you have a deal, then this isn't a backout unless you *both* agreed to a deal:
- what items at what value
- who ships when
and so on.

If you agreed, then yeah, it's a backout.
