Warhammer40k site down?

Post by fitterpete »

Is the 40k site down?Everytime I click on it at the top of my page I go to the board and it says they are down for maintenance on 4/1 and 4/2.I just got back into 40k and wanted some insight into the game.

Adam took it down for those two days so he could install the PhBB patches. However, I don't know if he finished or forgot to put things back in order. I sent Adam and MB a PM last week asking about it. I've yet to get a response, although it has been read. People can still log in and post, but I think the front page announcement is something of a deterrent.

Ah! Okay. I'm an idiot. It works for me because I'm a mod over there.

I hate to ask....but is it coming back up anytime soon?

it seems like this is the second time this has happened, scheduled maintenance that should last 1-2 days lasts for a month almost..at least change the message or something.

I hope so. We are working on the problem. Several PMs have been sent, but MB and Adam have rough work schedules and it could take some time.

Also, of note, B-Town is in the midst of adding some discussion boards in the near future. So if things go downhill on WH40k, there will be another place to go.

I would also hope that the threads from there will not suddenly be dropped with out warning.

I hope not. If you know anyone who has some threads in there they want, I or some of the other mods over there could grab them for ya.

Well I have no idea if anyone wants anything. As it stands now, the site has been paid for and what not(is it only for a month or for several?) so in any case, I think they would have to deliberatly take it down for stuff to disappear.

IIRC, the license is good for a year. So beyond that, it's just tech support issues.
