Where to post a board game trade.

Post by HonorforONEFilms »

I was going to post a thread where people who had board games they didn't use often could post them. Then, other people could see games they'd like to try and swap games for a set amount of time. This people could try new board games without having to pay a lot of money for them. Also this might set up trades if someone swapped board games and ended up really liking the one they got.
LOOK OUT FOR THAT HAMMER!!!!!!

1. Less refs you'll probably have to ship first,
2. Please pm me even if a simple no. I will always try to do the same for you
3. PLEASE tell me what edition your warhammer stuff is! If you say you have a model and don't specify people assume you mean a seven edition. Not a worthless fourth edition.

No idea.

I asked the other mods and admin for a boardgames forum a while back and basically got laughed at.

So just put the thread where you best judge it should go. If anyone says anything about it, direct them to me.

I think there are more of us interested in this than the powers-that-be imagine.
I would be surprised if a board game trading forum got LESS hits than the "collectables" forum.

Agreed. I think it would have more traffic than collectibles and paintball, at the very least. I know last time many users were against adding more forums. While I can understand that, boardgames cover a broad section of gaming that does not have a section on B-Town.

Well, with any luck, someone on the admin side will read this and we'll get our forum afterall.

Well.. I am certainly up for a Board Game trade area.. and yep.. certainly would garner more interest than Collecible or Paintball..

I would vote Yes to it..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Hell, if anything, replace the "all other auctions" forum with it; it has what, 1 whole thread inside?

I would really like one. Maybe we could all spam up all the mods inboxes with endless pms untill they agreed. But then again that might backfire. They could ban us all. :-o Ah well, I guess until then we'll all wait and see.

I am SURE that the Mods would find this statement hilarious. I think their inboxes are already filled with enough of our "spam"...

But, It would be great to see a boardgame forum.

HF1F... I can honestly tell you that anyone (and everyone) spamming MY inbox for this would get an "official" warning for the first PM and a 2 week vacation for the second... They really wouldn't want to tempt me with a 3rd.

As Adunaphel said... we get enough PMs daily from members asking for help that we don't need an attempt at annoying us into doing something. YOU successfully predicted the outcome of that.

Regularly, I log in to find 3, 4, 5, 6 or more PMs waiting for me... and that is when I'm NOT actively trading. Other mods have similar experiences. We don't want the spam, too. : )

Lower rating? You ship first.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Then I'm very glad I saw the consequences to my actions before I made them. But now for an honest question, how could we get a boardgame subfurum? Could you replace a pre existing furum or do you have to create a new one? I guess the question is do you need funding or something that we users can give or do you just need enough mods to say yes?

I DON'T think they would need extra money. I think it is more of a deal where the Mods and probably Lin would decide they would like the change to make the site better.

And THEN they would have to go to Trademaster Adam and try to have him actually do the change. When he's not playing WoW. ;)

I think.
