First, you need to go ahead and leave him the APPROPRIATE reference (a positive).
That way, once the incorrect one is removed, he'll still have the reference he deserves.

Second, you need to PM TrademasterAdam (and include Linrandir on the PM), tell him what you did, and ask him to delete it.
Let him know that you've already left the correct, positive, reference.

Eventually, he'll get around to it.

In the mean time, I guess ol' Jim will have to suffer with that blemish on his record and risk people making him ship first because, due to that negative, he'll look suspicious.
