old nid models
I have a bunch of the older nid models from the early 90s with the smaller models. They range in all sorts of conditions from broken weapons to still in the package. Would these models in any condition be worth more or less than models of today?
I will ship out of the US please let me know within the first post where you are if not in the US, it does affect how the trade goes some times. Thanks Also lower rank ships first, and I always want to both use and receive a tracking number so I can know when to expect things.

Hate to tell you.. but it is almost 100% subjective.Xoan wrote:I have a bunch of the older nid models from the early 90s with the smaller models. To me (trying for an All Plastic Nid Swarm), they have no value. To a completeist or someone trying to match that style.. they would be worth something.
In general.. the Zoats are the valueable ones from that line.. most others might (in good condition) command retail.
Do you have a list? (especially the NIB models)..

Re: old nid models
From around my parts these are the older metals that I've noticed used, over/the same as, the new models.
The "screamer-killer" Carnifex, I see alot of these older models right along side the newer ones - usually not as proxies
The older Zoanthropes - alot of people in my area dont like the floating "sperm"
Older Lictors - these are used with about similar frequency 50/50
The only small model I see used with any frequency are the old Hormagaunts, the ones that look like a ripoff of the aliens from the Aliens series.
Conversely I know people in my area who simply have shelved the older models as soon as the newer ones came out.
If your looking to trade it expect to trade in units as people are going to be matching what they already have.
Feebay is going to be your best bet on selling the whole lot at once.

Re: old nid models
thanks for the information guys, hehe and it is pretty much as I expected it to be. I am working up a list for this week, I just moved and didn't want to start any trades until I was done with the move.
I always thought that the warriors looked like freaky ants... I hate their old fragile bone swords. heh The metal models were pretty cool for their time, but the newer ones are cooling looking if you are into the look of the army. I would imagine though that if someone was either trying to match an old army they have or wanted the smaller carnies with melee spec, they would love the smaller miniatures.
I just can't play any army without armor saves, and back when I played them Genestealers had a 6+ save which was stupid, and they cost 22 points a model... I am not sure I could ever go back to playing them againl, they were my first army, but it would be nice to play them under these new rules. I am on mixed opinion with what I want to do with them.

the old gaunts and nids WERE ripoffs of the alien in alien/aliens.. space hulk was the alien movie set in 40k.
stealers were the 1st models..then later the gaunts. the whole 'ovi-positor' tounge was taken from the marvel comic, 'rom, space knight'. the 'villians', wraiths, reproduced that way.

Except for comic collectors, I've rarely seen people who actually know of Rom since it didn't really have a long runtime.

From the movie "Pulp Fiction", where they are collecting the case from the 4 guys in the apartment.

Re: old nid models
Might anyone have the rules for the old Gazkull and his little friend with a barrier hehe I found him too, I want to show the rules and what not to a Orc friend of mine... As I remember he would be one of their biggest changes that made it through the game.

Re: old nid models
Now, I'm certain that what you're asking for is to buy or trade for a copy of the previous Ork Codex, in which case, you've posted this in the wrong forum... you should be in the Trading forum.Xoan wrote:Might anyone have the rules for the old Gazkull and his little friend with a barrier hehe I found him too, I want to show the rules and what not to a Orc friend of mine... I'm POSITIVE you aren't asking for copies of rules, as it's illegal, against forum rules, and would likely get you a short vacation from the site.
Also... this thread is about Nids. Not Orks.
