Doing abit of research,need some help

Hello bartertowners.

Does anyone remember a tv series that ran on pbs in the late or mid 80s called soldiers,or something like that. Each episode delt with different aspects of combat or military history. Used to have it on vhs but that tapes wore out.


Does anyone know of the whole/proper name of the series or have any information on it or links about it?

He did do a TV series back then but I'm not sure if that was it - there was a book (Keegan / Holmes) of that name that might have been a series back then; Dyer is still a prolific writer and current affairs columnist.

I looked up that author but do not think it was the series I was thinking about.

I can remember the opening was animated with different periods of military history ending with a line of british foot soldiers coming over a hill,,,,,
