Some advice for a new user ... common bartertown trade practice is that the lower trade rating ships or pays in advance. If the ratings are close, then sometimes simultaneous swapping occurs. This IS NOT a Rule.. this is common accepted convention.

There are some folks that maintain that cash is not the same as a trade.. but there are threads to read that will illustrate that better.

Seeing what you are offering, asking for payment up front might become an issue. Please see the recent threads opened in the Bad Trader and Backout forums on the member the_trader.

Given that situation and how many people are involved in that one person's scheme... please understand that other users might indeed be leery at this time.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

Just like they could pay you and you never send the stuff. (not saying you would do that)
The only thing you can really go on is reputation. There are alot of traders that have been here for a long time and built up references. Do trades with them so you can trust that they won't ripped you off. If you want to get paid first, then you need to build up your refs first or go to ebay.

If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my underwear!

Buy, sell or trade....it's all the same to me. Lower refs pays/ships first!

I have a "high" rating (100+), so I'd expect you to ship first.

OTOH, if I were selling to someone with a low rating, I'd expect payment first.

Of course, if you break things into lots, and start with the smallest lots, you reduce your risk while building up Feedback refs of your own.

Any Negatives or Neutrals? *You* ship first, regardless of rating!
