Need some help

Ok guys this is my first truly bad thing on Bartertown. I had a guy send first. According to the second delivery confirmation the package was delivered this past Friday to my residence. The first dc was incorrect. The problem is I don't have the package. My wife has not seen it. It is not in my yard or porch.

What should be my next step? Can the post office do anything? I am not trying to screw the guy but if I send then I am *edit* out of luck.

Looking for some sagely advice.

I once had that happen when I was in college. It said it was delivered, and I was like.. No it wasn't. I ended getting it 2 weeks later. And I really questioned my post office about it too. maybe it got sent to the wrong place.. Or maybe their system is just crappy.. Who knows, you'll probably get it in a week or so!
I follow the idea LOWER references ships/pays first. It keeps things safer for anyone, as I would never desire to have to start over again. Nor would I want to loose the trust of any fellow gamers. That is how I ended up with my reference collection! I always follow through with my deal!

My 2 cents
Since the DC number shows "something" was delieved to your address,i think you would be obligated to send your part of the deal to the other trader,as his part of the deal is fulfilled.
In this situation,it sucks too be you,i'm not trying to be a smart A$$,but you don't know what happened to the package (if it was a package that was delieved,the DC doesn't tell you what was delieverd,just that something was delieverd),it could have been stolen by someone from your mail box ect,hopefully the package will turn up

Quite the predicament.
I don't recall... Does the DC# say WHERE it was delivered to?

First, make certain that information matches up.
If it does not, politely ask him for a copy of the receipt from your shipment. It won't show MUCH, but it WILL show the city, state and ZIP code it was shipped to.

Nothing against your trade partner, but I wouldn't put it past SOMEONE out there to try to give somebody the wrong DC#, then claim it as having arrived to YOU when, in fact, it has arrived somewhere else. KWIM?

If everything matches up, I'd say to send the stuff you promised and file a complaint with the USPS. Heck... maybe check with your neighbors, too. It might be that the address was sloppily written and went to a different house.

How stupid is your mailman? In VA, my parents lived on a street called "Heritage Woods Ridge" and there was a street nearby that was "Heritage Woods Lane." Coincidentally enough, their house number was THE SAME as someone on "Lane." They used to get each others' mail ALL the time! Might something like that have happened?

Thanks everyone.

I plan on sending the package. The DC shows the package delivered on 12:47. I find it curious since my usual mail doesn't arrive until 3-3:30. I plan on talking to someone on Saturday.

online, it says this item was delivered at [time], [city], [state], [zip].
if it's correct, most likely it was sent to you. if not, then, you better check to see what he sent where. he m,ight be doing multiple trades and gave yousomeone else's D/C by mistake, or on purpose.

if it is your zip code,
call the post office that delivers to you house. if you don't know it, there is a 1-800 number, it's on usps.com..

ask to speak to the delivery supervisor of your zip code, and tell them your zip code. there are usually 2-3 zones, [z in zip code stands for zone], in a building. ealry morning, between 7-8 am is best.

tell them you were expecting a package, the d/c says it was delivered, but you don't have it. they'll check with the carrier. when you call that early the carrier who delivered you package, should still be in the building. the supervisor can ask them then or let you speak to them. [there isn't a policy on that, some supv. just let the carrier handle it.]

if he/she remembers, then maybe they can give you more info.
if they recall it, and it was the right package, ask the supervisor for the number for the postal inspectors.

then call them and explain what happened, and the items worth; which since it sounds like it wasn't insured, it can't be much,

that's why i always say, insure it unles it's less than $10. for $11-20, then that's iffy. above $20, insure it.

that's what you need to do.
