Pegasus Terrain Barbed Wire Question

I was considering purchasing some Pegasus terrain Barbed wire kits.
I was wondering if any of you who currently own these could let me know if they are worth purchasing.
I.E. do they hold up well to game play, are they sturdy or delicate, etc.

Are you talking about the unbuilt/unpainted kit, or the premade stuff?

The premade kits look good to me. I've used their wooden fences and whatnot and these look to be of the same quality, if slightly less durable due to the thin plastic of the wire.

If you're talking about the unbuilt kit, I've used that in modelling projects and found it to be ok. It can be a little brittle, but as long as you're not rolling tanks over it and its based properly, it should hold up. You can't go wrong for the price.

I'm actually talking about the premade stuff six sections to a pack. It takes alot of time to make cityfight terrain squares and premade simply saves time. They seem fairly priced.

Not sure whether you're aware, but you can make barbed wire from jeweler's wire by the foot for pennies. I've done it and the results look better than either the Pegasus or GW sets.

It's the stuff beaders use to make thin bead jewelry. It's fairly strong for its size, and cheaper than minis for sure.

As to examples, I dunno... I'm only familiar with it because my wife makes bead work.

No unfortunately. I keep meanng to make more and post pics and a tutorial in my various WIP threads but hasn't happened yet. The process is:

-Buy (I believe the smallest size is) 24 gauge copper jeweler's wire (you should be able to find this in any large hobby store that stocks beader's stuff. It's sold in a roll usually a few feet long)
-Cut off two strands of roughly the same length and wrap on end around the other tightly
-Using an electric screwdriver/drill, take out the bit and then insert the wrapped wire end into the chuck and securing it
-With the unwrapped free end, grab this with a pair of needlenose pliers
-Hold the pliers tightly closed and start the drill. Viola! the two wires should twist around each other - this is the central wire
-Take the central wire out of the drill
-Cut off a strand of the jeweler's wire at least twice as long as the central wire
-Now, starting at one end, wrap this new wire around the central one at least twice around (though you can wrap it up to five times around and still look convincing - barbed wire comes in all shapes). You should end your wrap with one end of the wire sticking out one end, the opposite sticking out the other, perpendicular to the central wire
-Continue down the repeating this step, don't worry that the second wire is continuosly looping from side to side because...
-When you get to the end, glue the wrapped areas to the central wire and snip off the second (barbed) wire about a quarter mm from the central wire on both sides
-Prime with "rusty" colored primer and drybrush with a little boltgun metal
-Wrap the wire around a dowel in a spiral shape and remove the dowel. Viola! You just made barbed wire.
