Couple of ?s

Post by maple »

Hey gang.

Although I have been on the forums for a couple of years, I have made a lot of trades and figured I'd ask a couple of questions before posting my next trade items.

1. I have a ton (not literally) of items I am looking to unload. They range from paints to board games and a few things in between. My question is this: Would it be appropriate to split up the items into individual posts, as the items will fall into many different forum categories. In the past I have simply posted a "laundry list" of items in each forum, but as there is going to be 4 - 6 different categories worth of stuff for trade, I was wondering if it would be appropriate to list the items individually.

(i.e. All of my 40k stuff in the 40k forum. All of my board games in the b.g. forums..... you get the idea)

2. I am selling a number of paints that I no longer, or have never used. What is the appropriate forum to list them in?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

make one big list of all the items your selling. Dont put parts in each forum. Put the whole list in each forum. Paints included. As paints can be used for any model. Just list the topic under the forums for the models you have.
I follow the idea LOWER references ships/pays first. It keeps things safer for anyone, as I would never desire to have to start over again. Nor would I want to loose the trust of any fellow gamers. That is how I ended up with my reference collection! I always follow through with my deal!

I agree with Darkchampion. Make it one big list.
I am sure that there are quite a few of us Bartertowners who are interested in quite a few of the boards.
I personally would be interested in items that could go into the W40K, WFB, Post WW1, Video Games, and Board games (even though we don't have that board).

So, you would get more looks at the whole list if you put it all together and put it into all of the appropriate boards.

i'm on the other side of the camp.
i hate reading thru your list of 40k on the fantasy list..

if you put it all on one list, at least put the correct items for that catagory on top...please.

if i see the same list over and over.. i just ignore it.

I was thinking one list would be best, but changing the header in each individual forum.
I.E. in the 40k forum, using a title of: H: Space Marines W:$$. In the Misc Fantasy forum: H: Alkemy W: $$ and so on a so forth.

As for paints and some other odds and ends (Zombies board games) I am still not 100% where to list them.
The reason behind this entire post is that I don't want to be a douche and clutter up a bunch of forums with my closet cleaning sale. At the same time, I do indeed want to clean out my closet as the wife is ready to beat me for having so much un-used stuff.

One big list, with a relevant heading and stuff at top:

WTS: 40k Eldar
40k Eldar
WFB Orks
BFG Chaos
paint

WTS: BFG Chaos
BFG Chaos
WFB Orks
40k Eldar
paint

WTS: WFB Orks
WFB Orks
40k Eldar
BFG Chaos
paint

This way, the relevant stuff is visible in the appropriate forum, and people don't have to hunt for it.

Good advice, John.
I was going to suggest this very thing, but also advise him to make each heading/game/category a different color.

I agree, however, that the items should be in categories and titled.. and the titles should be emboldened larger text.
