Also, if selling on eBay:
4.3 Use of PayPal on eBay.Sellers who offer PayPal as a payment method in their eBay listings (either via logos or through text in the item description) must accept Card Funded Payments. Sellers must have a Premier or Business PayPal Account, or be willing to upgrade from a Personal PayPal Account to a Premier or Business Account upon receipt of a Card Funded Payment. Sellers may not communicate to buyers that they only accept, or will not accept, specific forms of PayPal payment.
well, here's what i post at the bottom of every ad:
I accept money orders for payment. I prefer USPS money orders. If you wish to use Paypal, send me your email address and I'll send you an invoice. I accept Paypal with funds drawn from a bank or Paypal funds. NO CHARGE CARDS. NO DEBIT CARDS. NO EXCEPTIONS. E-checks held until cleared. Paypal fees have become to costly.
I will combine shipping. Payment if 10 days of unpaid item will be claimed and negative feedback left.
i haven't had a problem yet. i've been a member of paypal since before they were bought by ebay. i've also ben a member of ebay since then. i believe it was 1999.
paypal has been such a PIA, that if ebay gives me a problem, i'll just accept MO.
you actually more protection using money orders than paypal.
money orders are seent through the mail; thus you have mail fraud and the usps inspectors to call.
paypal can only reimburse funds from a paypal account. if there is no money in it, you get nothing back. if the person transfers it imediately to their bank, paypal can't get it back to give you.
