I have a ton of old Magic cards (and a few LOTR) I want to get rid of, but I have no idea how to go about pricing them fairly. I don't want to get ripped off, but I want to offer a decent deal at the same time. For all I know, it's all junk!
EDIT: I also need a guide to tell me how to tell all the different groups / editions apart. I know it's by the little symbol under the right bottom corner of the picture, but I have no idea what half of them are.
I know there's a magazine called Scrye (?) that prices cards, but is that the proper standard for pricing things? Is there a website that's more accurate?
Thanks for any insight or advice!

skrye is probably the most commonly used medium for trading/selling ccg's.. it should have all the info you are looking for.
however always keep in mind, just because a book/magazine/internet says a card is worth 4,000 dollars, that same card is only worth what someone offers you for it. If you are willing to accept what they offer, then that is actually what that item is worth.

I totally understand that stuff is only worth what someone's willing to pay for it, I just need a place to start.
If skrye is a good place, than that's where I'll start!
Thanks!

That's MOTL's Price guide based on ENDING E-Bay Auctions...
Magazines = What people THINK stuff is worth.
E-Bay = What people are PAYING for stuff.
Magazines = Updated monthly.
MOTL Guide = Updated DAILY.
Magazines = $3-4 a pop, PER month...
MOTL Guide = Free to look at 24/7...
I personally use e-bay because it has a "search" box and I can see multiple auctions, whereas the MOTL guide makes you "Ctrl+F" your cards, and only gives you a couple prices. However it also gives you the added bonus of gains/losses, ups/downs, and averages.
Btw: Saw your ad, tried to find something I needed... Definately check my MTG H/W list in my siggy and see if you have anything on it, all good if you don't. Anyways, have a good one.
