How long is Bad Trading?

Post by Fishley »

Hi,

I just wondered, how long is it until someone is classified a Bad Trader? For example, if I have sent a package to somebody, and have ehard nothing from them since i sent it. i know people can not be able to get online for a while and the like, but how long out of contact before somebody is classed as a Bad Trader?

Sory if this is self-evident, I did look to see if i could find the answer but had no luck.

Cheers,

Fish

It depends... have you tried contacting the person? have their been extenuating circumstances... its really up to you how long to long is.. try to work it out... if they dont respond then its a bad trade...

Cheers for the response.

Ive tried by PM yes, for about just over a week i think. I'l probably leave it a bit longer, or until I know theyve been active and ignored me.

Thanks for your help,

If you pm'ed them you can check your outbox, if the message that you sent is in there then they have logged in since you sent it , if it is in your sent box,They have,
Hope that helps a little,

Hi Fish

Sorry to see you're having a rough time. Most of us have been there.

After about a week of unanswered emails, you could consider calling them. They should have notified you if they were going to be unavailable -a common curtesy. If you've mailed them items, you can 'google' a phone number for them. This could be untimely if they were sick or there had been a death in the family. We all have a life and things happen.

Otherwise, I'd wait until that second week before calling. This way you make it personal, and they know you're going to follow-up, in case they were trying to scam you.

If they're still unresponsive, then I'd leave a neg feedback AND contact the postal authorities.

If you haven't sent anything just forget the deal. This isn't someone you want to work with.

Good Luck

Thanks to both of the above.

I'l probably send another PM soon to reinforce it, and if I hear nothing by the end of June Il take your advice and look for a phone number.

On another trading site I had a simialr problem, and simply sent an email every 1/2-week, until they got so fed up with recived messages that they sent my old stuff back lol.

Cheers,

Fish

moved out of the BTR forum as part of clean-up..

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack
