Anyone been to Gen Con? Dealer Areas?
Question to anyone that has been to Gen Con. Is it have a good used stuff dealer area or is most of it just new stuff? I have never been but did not want to pay for admission to find only new products available? Thanks!

I would say that at most you will find 2 maybe 3 used merchandise dealers at GenCon. What type of merchandise are you looking for?

I am a newbie to Warhammer 40K so I would be looking for it and for Epic 40K items. Would they have the new Warhammer 40K at good prices or am I better at just getting it off of the guys here on Bartertown? thanks!

I think the biggest merchant of 40k items at Gencon will be TheWarstore, if they are there.
Epic will be hard to find there. Not a lot of Games Workshop at GenCon. There are booths that will have odds and ends. There is 1 booth that has lots of bins of used stuff and a wall of new stuff, but the selection is pretty limited.

There was a guy at Origins who had BINS and BINS of oop 40k as well as NIB 40k items. I was able to get Sisters of Battle for $2 each, and heavy weps for $5... even got a spare baggie of SOB backpacks.. 5 for $5.
I mention this, cause he said he was going to be at GenCon this year.. and now I am trying to remember who he was and what store he ran.. got it..
The Game Room, based in Toledo, Ohio. Has bits in his physical store and at conventions, no internet sales at all.
He WILL be at Gencon according to the Exhibitor list..

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

That's the guy I was talking about. He will be your best shot at finding stuff but his selection is limited, largely oop models and you will have to dig for hours in those bins. He also has some newer stuff in boxes behind the counter.

I've been to that guy's shop several years ago when GW was soing one of their cross-country game things (Archaon was invading or something like that). Anyway he was a great guy to deal with then and probably still is. He traded bits for bits (2 for 1) so you might want to take some trade bait just in case. Good luck.

He also is willing to haggle if you are getting a bunch of bitz.. a buddy got most of his OOP Rhino hulls and was able to talk the dealer into about 70% of his price.
