TLDR: we agreed on 40 metal rangers for $120. He "can't have PayPal due to student debt" and wanted me to either send him a personal check or money order.

I requested he ship first due to a rating 50 points lower than mine with multiple references to slow shipping and poorly packed models and the need for a payment method that I couldn't recover if something went wrong.i think this is a perfectly reasonable request on BT. He backed out because I wouldn't send unsecured funds before he sent models

Huge red flags from the "can't have PayPal" to fishing for a better price with a new post in the middle of our discussion, whole thing just felt sketchy.

Thats fine. I've sent money to people who have had good and higher references prior to sales and trades and people have done the same with me. That's totally fine and I undestand you not wanting to send money 1st and I wouldn't try to force you to either, but given the recent the 2 to 4 negative recent trades I've had I totally understand not wanting to send 1st. That's fine and sorry we didnt come to a deal. If interested in other items I list feel free to reply. No pressure and no obligation.

That's totally fine. I I've been scammed the past 2 to 4 trades where I didnt even get half my money's worth after I sent 1st. I dont even have my Eldar Aspect Warriors anymore after that. So I totally understand.

I could try but I'm hesitant since one of the most recent guys I traded with got almost all my aspect warriors and I didnt even get half my money's worth or back from that and didnt even get my aspect warriors back in one of the trades/sales I did. I'm hesitant about shipping first since then and another trade where a guy traded for my dark eldar raiders which were in great condition until the guy smashed them up and tried to say it was me that did it. I had pictures to prove him wrong, then he changed his story and said the post office did that.I barely managed to get those raiders back. I forgot the rest of the deatails since that was years ago but the guy used a fake address to send them to and almost got away with keeping my raiders and not sending anything in return.

I might be able to send 1st but If I'm told no then that might not be an option. I can get more and closer pictures though if you prefer.

I've been scammed constantly in my recent dealings even when I had the higher ratings recently in trades

I'm not saying you would try to scam me, but I have to be more careful since the recent 2 to 4 trades/sales.

Also, since your rating is way lower than mine and we're dealing with an unsecured transaction (is, not PayPal) then per standard bartertown practices, I'm going to need to receive these before I send you any money. Hope that means sense!

So far your offer is seeming the best from the recent offers. Do you do united states postal money orders or checks or what forms of payment do you do? I dont have Paypal or Credit Cards anymore due to student loan debt.

Quite possibly. I will strongly consider that if you are not in a hurry. That would be roughly the equivalent of 2 rangers for every guardian. That would also be an acceptable offer possibly.

A box of guardians is $60 new. Those old rangers go from around $12-$20 (avg about $15) for 5 one ebay so 4 boxes of guardians isn't really an equitable trade.

The main items of the highest priority though would be either money or trade like A Box Of Gardians For Every 10 Rangers. Or some similar negotiation idea.

For that I would be seeking any of the following kinds of items:

I would be interested in : Craftworld Eldar Guardians. The most recent version.
Dark Eldar Mandrakse possibly, if newest version
Emperor's Children: Distant Maybe.
Imperial Fists Intercessors: Distant Maybe.

PS4 Controllers: New In Box:
Craftworld Eldar Wraith Guard Very Possibly

Those are some of the items I'm seeking if possible. Obviously not all of them but I mean the different kinds of items I'm seeking.

The highest priority ones on the list would be Craftworld Eldar Guardians. New In Box If Possible. And PS4 Controller New In Box If Possible.

I should be able to find 40 Rangers like the kind you requested.

They are 3rd and 4th edition rangers in great condition mostly. All are metal.

I would be interested in tradingbut as for money I'm not sure since they are all in good to great condition aside from some needing some new rifle barrels. But I want toget a good deal that isbeneficial for both me as well as the buyer.

I am trying to sell and condense my armies into either getting down to one army or rid of40K altogether. I am interested in Money, Possibly Emperor'sChildren, Dark Eldar, or CraftWold Eldar. Also some other trade options aside from those.

You didn't actually agree on a deal. The payment method is part of the deal. He choose to walk away when you declined to use the payment method he proposed.

Don't misunderstand. I agree there are read flags on his side in the discussion. I would not move forward with that trade either. But I don't feel this is a actual backout of a fully formed deal.
