Outbox question

Hello,

Sorry if this has been written down somewhere but I had this question..

Do messages in your outbox disappear after the person reads them?

I thought they disappear a short time after they were sent, to give people time to edit their message real quickly if needed. But, I messaged a dude earlier today and that message is in the outbox while another guy I messaged today around 30 minutes ago, his message is already out of my outbox.

Can someone explain the mechanic to me?

Good day,

The message will remain in your outbox until the other person reads it then it is moved to your sent box.
